American Truck Simulator Kansas Announced

SCS Software has the feeling that American Truck Simulator is not not in Kansas anymore, announcing that the Sunflower State will be the setting of the next expansion for the driving simulation. The new pack already has a Steam Listing, which says the release date is to be announced. The Great Plains states are notoriously flat, so hopefully the DLC's twists and turns will help make up for its lack of ups and downs. Here's more:
Once considered to be the country’s agricultural heartland, "The Sunflower State" has attracted many large businesses and grown economically in other areas due to its central location and convenient infrastructure for logistics operations. But, as the nickname suggests, nature is certainly doing very well to keep up with technological progress, as the state parks and vast prairies offer unique views with a marvelous atmosphere that will leave every trucker passing by with something to remember.

Make sure to add the map expansion to your Steam Wishlist to show us how excited you are about this upcoming project. to stay in touch with the latest development news and updates follow our social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok). We look forward to sharing more information with you about Kansas in American Truck Simulator, including more about its bustling cities, busy industries, and much more!

Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition in March

Throwback game publisher Ziggurat Interactive announces Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition, an updated version of Terminal Velocity, is expected on PC and consoles on March 14th. Here's the Steam Listing. This 6DoF indoor/outdoor flying shooter was originally released in 1995, near the peak popularity of this subgenre. Word is: "Updated for modern platforms, will have players at the forefront of aircraft-based combat, taking to the skies and soaring through realistic environments. It’s all about action, speed, and destruction!" The Teaser Trailer reveals that while the graphics are upscaled, this still will not be mistaken for a brand new game. Here's more on the plan:
In Terminal Velocity™: Boosted Edition, players will strap themselves into a fully decked-out fighter ship and battle through nine enemy-plagued planets across the galaxy. Set in the far future, the Earth is under siege as adversarial armadas from the surrounding systems have begun to strike. As a top-flying ace from the Ares Squadron, players will take control of the fastest — and most dangerous — aircraft ever made. Outgunned and outmanned, only a true fighter can make it out alive!

Unique to most flight simulators, Terminal Velocity™: Boosted Edition puts combat at the forefront. With low inertia flight mechanics that allow players to bank, roll, and loop easily across treacherous maps, and a straightforward control layout, they’ll be thrust bow-first right into the action. To support them in battle, they’ll have access to seven destructive weapons and multiple power-ups to conquer deadly enemy fighters in the air and on the ground. They’ll feel the ultimate power of flight as they take to the skies and soar through realistic environments and put their aerial skills to the test as they travel through dozens of tunnels and underground caverns. It’s all about action, speed, and destruction!

Out of the Blue

Today is thought to be the anniversary of Duke Nukem 3D, as the Wikipedia says the shareware was released on January 29, 1996. This was a peak of the 2.5D shooter era, as QUAKE was already on the horizon. But as I've mentioned before, I'll always remember the sensation the demo caused on DWANGO, where most players previously basically only played DOOM and only on one particular map. So we've busted out our classic Duke 3D logo to once again mark the occasion. Hats off to Walter "2" Costinak for creating the original logo, and to Scott for fixing it for our current format.

Obituary: Tom Verlaine, guitarist and co-founder of band Television, dead at 73.
