Sable is today's freebie on the Epic Games Store, and it is now available to download for free. With Epic giving away a game a day through the holidays, your snagging window is just a day. So you have until 11:00 am EST tomorrow to lay claim, and it's yours to keep. Here's the free version of a sales pitch:

Free Outpath: First Journey Released

Outpath: First Journey is now available for Windows on Steam, offering a free prologue for Outpath, an "experimental" base-building game coming to Steam next year. This sample includes the first two biomes from the full game, which is described as a "3D first-person platformer." Here's the Steam Release Trailer with a look, and here's a description:

Massive Entertainment tweets a call for play testers for its mysterious upcoming Star Wars game (thanks Eurogamer). This is local, aimed at those near Malmö Sweden:

NVIDIA Killing GameStream

GameStream End of Service Notification from NVIDIA announces that the local game streaming feature on NVIDIA Stream set-top boxes is being killed off (thanks Reddit). Word is this service that was a Shield selling point will end in February. They offer helpful suggestions for a replacement, including the chance to again pay for the privilege:
What’s happening to Gamestream?
Starting in mid-February, a planned update to the NVIDIA Games app will begin rolling out to SHIELD owners. With this update, the GameStream feature will no longer be available in app. SHIELD users can continue to use GameStream until that time.

How can I stream from my PC to my SHIELD after Gamestream becomes unavailable?
SHIELD owners can use Steam Link to stream games from their PC to SHIELD. Steam Link supports 4K streaming and allows streaming to many devices, including PCs, phones, and tablets. Gamers can also stream PC games from the cloud to their SHIELD TV using NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service.
