Valve Files NEON PRIME TM

A new Trademark Registration filed by Valve Corporation seeks to protect the title NEON PRIME. It's not clear what this is for as this lists the primary international class of the application as "Electrical Apparatus, Machines and Supplies." But the heading makes more sense, saying this is "intended to cover the categories of computer game software, electronic game software, video game software, computer game programs downloadable via the internet." The latest is that this is still in the works:
The trademark application has been accepted by the Office (has met the minimum filing requirements) and has not yet been assigned to an examiner.

RTX 4080 12GB Unlaunched

NVIDIA announces it has heard the complaints about its naming conventions. Admitting having two 4080 cards with different GPUs doesn't make sense, word is the 16GB card will continue to use the name, while the 12GB edition, which has a different processor as well as less RAM, will be renamed. No new name is supplied yet, but it doesn't seem farfetched to speculate it will become the 4070. Here's word:
The RTX 4080 12GB is a fantastic graphics card, but it’s not named right. Having two GPUs with the 4080 designation is confusing.

So, we’re pressing the “unlaunch” button on the 4080 12GB. The RTX 4080 16GB is amazing and on track to delight gamers everywhere on November 16th.

If the lines around the block and enthusiasm for the 4090 is any indication, the reception for the 4080 will be awesome.

Overprime Gets Paragon Branding

This Steam Listing reflects a name change for Overprime, a third-person MOBA announced early this year (thanks PureDMG). This is being developed with assets from Paragon, the free-to-play MOBA that ended in 2018, less than two years after its launch. Now word is Epic has granted Netmarble the rights to use the Paragon name, so the game's new title is Paragon: The Overprime. This post announces an event kicking off today to celebrate the news. Here's the announcement with a new trailer and some details:
We have received official permission from Epic Games to use [PARAGON] as part of our new name.

Therefore, we have decided to give the original [PARAGON] new life with [OVERPRIME] as [Paragon: The Overprime].

Overprime's official website, Steam, Discord, and various social media platforms will be changed following the name change.

We are working hard to ensure that Prime's battlefields are worthy of [Paragon: The Overprime] and its Warriors.

DRAGON BALL: THE BREAKERS Rolls Out

Attention all ball breakers, DRAGON BALL: THE BREAKERS is now available on Steam. The Launch Trailer shows off gameplay featuring familiar characters from the Dragon Ball IP. Here's more:

Morning Crowdfunding

Out of the Blue

I'm getting near the end of my rope with one of our next-door neighbors. I've admitted to him in the past that I'm jealous of how handy he is after seeing him cutting tile, working on his own brakes, and other skilled labor. But at this point I'm contemplating a plan to break in and steal his circular saw. We've been living here around three years now, and I'd estimate he's spent the day sawing wood for a couple hundred of those thousand days. And when he's at it, it's like 10 hours straight of sawing. And it's right outside the door to my office, which is more than a little grating after a while. We live in townhouses, and it's hard for me to imagine him being able to even walk into his unit if it's actually filled with all his handiwork. At this point he must have three layers of hardwood flooring on every surface in the house and every wall covered with shelves with one inch between them to have made use of so much cut lumber. Weird, to say the least.

Lumbering Round-up
Thanks Ant and Neutronbeam.
