Hearthstone: Murder at Castle Nathria Announced

Blizzard announces Murder at Castle Nathria, the next expansion for Hearthstone, the deck-building strategy game. This is expected to launch on August 12th, adding 135 new cards and a mystery worthy of the genius of Murloc Holmes. Details on new cards are being gradually rolled out in the Hearthstone Card Library. A Cinematic Trailer helps introduce the news, which follows:
The Shadowlands is normally where souls go after they die, so when someone dies in the Shadowlands, that’s a special kind of mystery. Sire Denathrius invited 10 of his counterparts and enemies to Castle Nathria for a dinner party so that he could address the malicious rumors that he is hoarding anima, the life-energy that is drained from tortured souls and used to power the Shadowlands. But just after the festivities started, Sire Denathrius was found dead! It seems a gaggle of enemies does not a good dinner party make. Now the illustrious Murloc Holmes, and his trusty sidekick Watfin, have been called to solve the case. Scour new Location cards, follow the trail of Infused minions, question the 10 Legendary suspects, and help determine who committed Murder at Castle Nathria!

Diablo II: Resurrected MP Patch Wednesday

A post on Blizzard News discusses a version 2.4.3 patch for Diablo II: Resurrected, the revived action/RPG sequel. The headline says this is "coming soon," but the body spoils the suspense by revealing it's expected on Wednesday. Because of this, we‘ve been closely monitoring your feedback around multiplayer lobbies, and the changes highlighted below are a direct result of this. Sanctuary wasn’t built in a day—while we have made great strides in refining various aspects of Diablo II: Resurrected, we are dedicated to enhancing your pursuit of the Dark Wanderer even further. Happy 50th Atari

Atari tweets that today is the company's 50th anniversary. The company has changed hands and business models many times over that half-century. But the latest iteration continues on, and its plans to capitalize on its famous name include theme hotels. It may be hard to imagine in an era when you can game on your phone while on the toilet, but there was a time when one didn't have access to video games in one's home, and Atari was largely responsible for changing that. Happy birthday, Atari!

Robo Legend Demo

Robo Legend is a twin-stick shooter with RPG and puzzle-solving elements that's planned for release this (northern) autumn. But you don't have to wait that long to see how this unusual mashup works, as there's a playable Windows demo right now on Steam. You can get a look this previously released gameplay trailer. Here's the pitch:
Robo Legend is a twin-stick shooter RPG where you blast your way through hordes of crazy robots. You play as Robo, a mercenary robot who was kidnapped to an alien world that is under attack. Complete quests, solve minigames, and puzzles to end the conflict in a good or bad way. Your story, your choices, choose to save Gear Town, or conquer it, when Voidbot and his forces invade.

Out of the Blue

Congrats to the Avalanche on winning the Stanley Cup. This season feels like a real missed opportunity for the Rangers to steal one, but it was not meant to be. But the Rangers are a young team considered to be on the rise, and their strong showing in the playoffs this year was widely described as being ahead of schedule. Here's hoping the pundits are right and the team has a bright future. In any event, today belongs to the Avalanche and their fans. Huzzah and kudos.

Icy Round-up
Thanks Ant and Neutronbeam.
