Steam Adding Dynamic Cloud Sync

A post on Steam outlines a new Dynamic Cloud Sync feature being added to Steam to more readily accommodate a future where gamers are playing on a portable Steam Deck and a desktop PC. This will allow players to resume playing on a PC where they left off on a Steam Deck, even if they've just suspended the game. This will be free, but requires developer implementation. Here's how it works:
We anticipate that users will frequently suspend their Steam Deck without exiting the game, as is common with other hand-held gaming devices. With Dynamic Cloud Sync, if they then choose to play on another device (whether a PC or another Steam Deck), their progress will be there waiting for them.

With Dynamic Cloud Sync, Steam will automatically upload all modified save game data to the cloud prior to the device entering sleep mode. Users can then resume their game on any PC, laptop or other device. Steam will also automatically download any save game changes when users return to their Steam Deck and wake up the device.

Steam now features Early Access to Hidden Deep, a sci-fi action game from developer Cogwheel Software and publisher Daedalic Entertainment. The solo developer of this side-scroller cites Aliens, The Thing, and Half-Life as inspirations. Here's an Early Access Launch Trailer and here's more:
Hidden Deep is a 2D action & exploration sci-fi thriller set in a mining and research facility – more than a mile under the ocean floor.

A group of researchers detected strange anomalies of unknown nature and organized an expedition to examine the mysterious phenomenon. Suddenly, after 681 days, contact with the researchers breaks off. You are the leader of the second team: Go down there, find out what happened, rescue anybody who is alive.

Control your team members directly or by giving orders. Accomplish your mission by coordinating different tasks. Explore the sub oceanic caves by using specialized equipment: grappling hooks, scanners, drones and heavy machinery are all part of your arsenal.

Those burning questions cover gameplay, working with George RR Martin, and more. The conversation concludes with news that while a day-one patch is in the works, development is complete on the game. This makes if officially gold, and puts it on track for its most recent release date of February 25th. Here's word:

Dark Souls Offline for Fixes

Speaking of FromSoftware, this tweet confirms the Dark Souls vulnerability reported yesterday and says PvP servers will be kept offline until things are cleared up:
PvP servers for Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls 2, and Dark Souls: Remastered have been temporarily deactivated to allow the team to investigate recent reports of an issue with online services.
Servers for Dark Souls: PtDE will join them shortly.

We apologize for this inconvenience.

Out of the Blue

Man, I spoke too soon in expressing my excitement about Saturday's NFL playoff games, as yesterday's topped them. I'm sure there's some recency bias here, but I'm having a tough time thinking the Bills/Chiefs game wasn't the most exciting game in league history. I saw it all with my own eyes, but I'm still having trouble believing it.
