Blizzard DDOS Attacks End

A tweet from Blizzard CS reveals a denial of service attack knocked Battle.net and Blizzard online services out: "We're currently investigating an issue affecting our authentication servers, which may result in failed or slow login attempts." Perhaps this was someone taking advantage of advance warning that support is short staffed for the holidays. In any event, things seem to be cleared up now, as the latest tweet on the topic says:
The DDOS attacks that we were monitoring have ended. If you are still unable to log in try

Kaiju Commander Announced

Gameparic announces Kaiju Commander, a strategy game where you attempt to dominate the world by breeding and deploying giant monsters to do your bidding. We would have just leaned into the concept and titled the game Kaiju Tycoon, but perhaps that's why nobody asked us. The game has a Steam Listing with a TBA release date and a trailer with a first look. Here's more:
Kaiju, or giant monsters as a movie genre, was initiated by Godzilla - a film by Toho studio in the mid-1950s. However, over the years, interest in this type of cinematography began to decline. The phenomenon of great monsters returned with doubled force thanks to American films in which great robots struggled with equally great monsters. However, since the premiere of the film, there has been no game that would allow you to assume the role of a Kaiju commander and attempt to exterminate humanity. Only Kaiju Commander, a game developed by the Warsaw-based Gameparic studio, will give players such an opportunity.

In Kaiju Commander, the player takes the position of the manager of a corporation seeking to conquer humanity using Kaiju, giant monsters inspired by Japanese films. Players will be given many tools that will allow them to manage the network of bases but will also let them tinker with the genotype of monsters. This will allow them to create monsters with a different appearance but also one with unique abilities. Thanks to this, it will be easier for players to fulfill their goals, and - at the very end - to achieve the main goal which is to conquer the world.

Train Sim World 2 Sherman Hill: Cheyenne - Laramie Route Add-On Rolls Out

The Sherman Hill: Cheyenne - Laramie Route Add-On is now available on Steam, helping keep Train Sim World 2 on track with new content. This comes alongside an update for the base version of the transportation sim, and you can read all about that here. Last but not least, the game is part of the Steam Autumn Sale, and this post has the details on how you can save on the game and many of its 47 DLC packs. Here's a trailer along with some details:
Stretching 58 miles, the Cheyenne – Laramie route is one of the crowning achievements of America’s Transcontinental Railroad. Built in the 1860’s, this route crosses the Continental Divide in Wyoming and has been a railfan favorite often referred to as American railroading at its best. While it was originally operated with the fabled ‘Big Boy’ of the steam era, it now is home to today’s third generation of diesel engines. Operators will control the powerful Union Pacific Electro-Motive SD70Ace with its 4,300-horsepower engine and the 3,000-horsepower EMD SD40-2 as they traverse the lines tough 1.5 percent westbound grade.

Out of the Blue

Today is a holiday here in the US: Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating. As always, here's hoping we all have reasons to be thankful wherever we live. It's been an eventful year for me, but I certainly am appreciative to be healing up after my car accident, not to mention my gratitude that I managed to survive it in the first place. The other sentiment I usually express on this occasion is true every single day. This is my appreciation to all of you who visit here, for which I can't thank you enough. As for the festivities, we have a 10 lb turkey to roast along with the fixings for dinner for two (plus leftovers) at home, but there's a plan to Zoom with our families for some togetherness.
