Leisure Suit Larry Giveaways

Indiegala is celebrating a Leisure Suit Larry sale by giving away the first two games in the long-running lechery series (thanks Ant). Those interested should head over and register for the right to collect free copies of both Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards and Leisure Suit Larry 2 Looking For Love (In Several Wrong Places). Just remember your breath mints, your condoms, and, of course, your leisure suit. Here's a quick refresher on the games:
Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards is the first game in Al Lowe's Leisure Suit Larry series, largely inspired by the text adventure Softporn Adventure, though with a greatly enhanced script containing more humorous descriptions and dialogue. A text parser is used to input commands for interaction with a graphical environment. Progress is achieved by collecting various items and figuring out which of those may be essential for conquering the hearts of the several female characters appearing in the game.

Leisure Suit Larry Goes Looking for Love (In Several Wrong Places) is the second game in Al Lowe's Leisure Suit Larry series. Continuing the plot of the previous game, the swinging single Larry Laffer has finally found his true love and is happily living with her. Right? Wrong!.. Because Larry is mercilessly thrown out by his great love and is left all alone, penniless, and womanless, in Los Angeles. Accidentally, Larry comes into contact with KGB agents who will pursue him all over the globe from now on. And there is also the evil doctor Noontonyt plotting evil schemes on a remote tropical island... Looks like Larry will have to forget about his women-related problems for now... or is it so?

Resident Evil Village PC Performance Patch Next Week

A tweet from Capcom says that a second performance patch is coming to Resident Evil Village on Steam to address a couple of specific issues (thanks PCGamesN). Here's the plan:
A second Resident Evil Village performance patch is releasing on Steam starting August 24th UTC. The patch addresses the following:

  • Fixed an issue where certain CPUs were unable to launch the game
  • Minor fine-tuning of certain graphical processes

Out of the Blue

Okay, operation Denny's was not a rousing success. I mentioned my idea about a visit to MrsBlue and from the look on her face you'd have thought I'd dropped a turd on the floor. I explained that I was picturing doing takeout, rather than eating in. This did not seem to move the needle at all. I get it, the appeal to me was mostly for novelty value, which doesn't apply to her.

Obituary: Tom T. Hall, country singer and 'Harper Valley P.T.A.' composer, dead at 85.

Rousing Round-up
Thanks Ant and Neutronbeam.
