Psychonauts 2 2021 Release Reconfirmed

A tweet from Double Fine says platformer sequel Psychonauts 2 is due this year (thanks Siliconera). This sounds definitive, but the game has been delayed three times already, so we'll just have to see. Here's the tweet:
And yes, Psychonauts 2 is this year and yes I've been mentioning that here and elsewhere for a while but no I can't tell you when because someone from THE COMPANY would arrange for a mysterious "cactus accident" to happen to me...

But it is real. It is playable. It is coming.

Portal 2 Turns 10

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the original release of Portal 2 on April 19, 2011. It was released just after midnight EDT, so it was released on the 18th for those west of here. Either way, here's to a decade of puzzles, Wheatley, and of course, potato batteries. I'm sure there's some cake around here to accompany the celebration. There are tweets with some photos looking back on the game from Erik Wolpaw and Josh Weier (thanks GamesRadar+). Portal 2 has a score of 95 on Metacritic and is rated "Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam based on over 193K reviews. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.

FIRST is a survival simulator set in a world after the global apocalypse. Together with his four-legged companion, the player travels through radioactive deserts, ruined cities and the ashes of the remains of civilization, discovering the story of the last days of human life on the planet.

The heroes will have to face dangerous creatures that have appeared after the environment died. However, confrontation will not always turn out to be the best solution. The player's four-legged friend will provide him with support, warn about dangers, search for resources, and even join in the battle when necessary!

Out of the Blue

On my return from a walk yesterday, I startled a female duck that was by the left side of our outside stairs. I glanced down to see if her mate was also down there, and was startled to see her nest. As you can see in this picture the nest contains a full dozen eggs, so she's been one busy little duck. This seems like a bad place for this, as my comings and goings, as limited as they are, clearly disturb her. This is also overlooking a parking lot, which seems like a dangerous place for the littles once they hatch. But I think we're all just stuck with the situation. We have a light on the porch that shines on this area at night, so now I need to figure out if it's better to turn that off, or did she pick that spot because she prefers it that way?
