ACT Free Weekend

A free weekend is underway for ACT on Steam, offering the chance to act on the impulse to try this unusual multiplayer action/RPG for Windows. The game is on sale for half-off if you want to pick it up after your sample. Here's a description:
ACT is a "Mini Role Play" multiplayer game which is played from 4 to 6 players. A game lasts 10 minutes, during which you will have to try to earn as much money as possible.

To do this you will have a job (which will be secret to the other players) which gives you special abilities:

  • Police (Infiltrate gangs and arrest all criminals)
  • FBI (Collaborate with fellow FBI players and kill all terrorists)
  • Robber (Rob the whole shop out)
  • Mafia (Recruit other players and let them join your crime organization)
  • Kamikaze (Explode and earn money by getting killed)
  • Serial Killer (You are a total psychopath, kill as many players as you can)

Watch Dog: Legion Multiplayer Delayed

A tweet from the Watch Dogs: Legion team informs us that the promised multiplayer update for Watch Dog: Legion is going to be delayed. It starts out indicating this will launch as planned on Tuesday, but then follows to indicate the PC release is delayed. Crashes on some GPUs need to be fixed before the PC edition is released. Ubisoft says it will update us "as soon as possible" on when that will happen. The console editions will launch as planned, but the Tactical Op is expected to follow on March 23rd. Here's the tweet, translated from image to text for your convenience, and into upper/lower case from all-caps in an abundance of good taste:
DedSec, we're excited to see new recruits in London when we launch the online mode of Watchdogs: Legion on March 9. Before we launch, we want to make you aware of the few things that have just come to our attention:

  • We've identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs. The team is working on fixing the issue as quickly as possible, and in the meantime, we've made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed. We will communicate the new launch date as soon as possible.
  • We have also identified an issue that can cause the game to crash during the Tactical Op. Therefore we have made the decision to launch it on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia on March 23.
  • PlayStation 4/5 will have limited in-game text chat on launch, and we are working on a fix for this, which will be coming on March 23 as well.

We're committed to delivering the best experience to all players and are working diligently to address the issues outlined above. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Tale of Immortal English Version Plans

A post on Steam says we can expect an English translation of Tale of Immortal, Lightning Games' action/RPG (thanks Eurogamer). This game has been a fixture on the weekly Steam Top 10 listings under its Chinese title 鬼谷八荒 since it first launched in Early Access. Here's word on the game's meteoric success and plans for a translated version:
We would like to thank you all for the incredible support, Tale of Immortal has already surpassed 1.8 million sales in our first month on Steam Early Access.

We've got tons of fantastic feedback and suggestions from you all, we deeply value all your thoughts, and we are super happy to see how engaged our community is during the game's development.

However at the same time, we regret for not having localized versions of the game sooner, which we now know some of our non-Chinese speaking users had difficult times experiencing the game. (Like having to use translation Apps :))

But this is only the beginning!
From the next month, we will be kicking off the English localization of the game! For now, we would love to ask for your understanding before the translation is completed, we have set up a Discord Channel, and one of our team member will be answering any urgent questions/bug reports! We will also keep the translation progress updated in the channel.

The Division 2 Major Update Plans

The Division 2 – The Road Ahead is a post from the development team of Tom Clancy's The Division 2 with a roadmap for the action/RPG. Ubisoft Massive includes details on a collaboration with Ubisoft Bucharest for new content coming later this year:
In the next major update, we are looking to bring a game mode that is entirely new to the franchise. Along with the game mode, we are investigating new ways to progress your agent with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability. We will be revealing more about what lies ahead as the update gets closer.

The development of this new update is still in its early stages and will take several months to complete. As a result, our next major update is currently scheduled for release late 2021 at the earliest. We will be taking this time to make sure we bring a meaningful change to the game.

Out of the Blue

We managed to finish out our viewing of WandaVision without having anything significantly spoiled along the way, which wasn't always easy. Both MrsBlue and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, and she is definitely not as all-in on the MCU as I am, so that's saying something. I think the limited series thing works very well for this material, and I'm greatly looking forward to Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Loki. I doubt that these will have the kind of imaginative twist of the sitcom homage from WandaVision, but not many shows do.
