Games Free for the Weekend on Steam

Besides the previously reported free weekends that are now underway for PAYDAY 2, American Truck Simulator, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Dog Duty, a few more games can be played for free on Steam over the next couple of days (thanks Steam Database via Ant. Here's a rundown:
Just Cause 4 Reloaded (Windows)
Jump into an action-packed open-world sandbox experience and cause chaos with a wide selection of weaponry, vehicles and gear. Strap into your wingsuit, equip your fully customizable grappling hook, and get ready to bring the thunder!

Cities: Skylines (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience.

Invisigun Reloaded (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Risk versus reward guides your journey through the full-length single player campaign and local/online multiplayer. Vigilance is key as environmental tells such as footprints and other disturbances will point out careless cadets. A massive amount of lovingly-made environments, maps, modes, and abilities – all obsessively balanced – combine for high replayability and a deep path to mastery.

The Detail (Windows, macOS, Linux)
Controlling the actions of a bitter veteran detective investigating a brutal gangland murder and a reformed criminal trying to protect his family, the player is forced to make tough choices and deal with the resulting consequences of those moral dilemmas. The gameplay focuses on branching narrative mixed with interactive comics, and is completed by a professional audio track.

Headsnatchers (Windows)
Hold onto your head with Headsnatchers, a stupidly hectic up-to-4-player local and online multiplayer party-game where you snatch your friends’ heads to come out victorious. Because, let’s face it, you’ll do anything to win.

In the future when human science and technology are in conflict with the ethics,
what will happen between the machine elites with advanced AI and the transformed humans in the project “Gold Express”? All of these depend on your decision, player!

PUBG Adding Clan System?

A tweet from PlayerIGN has an unconfirmed report on plans to add a clan system to PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS from someone who claims leaking "PUBG stuff" is one of their hobbies. This is just a rumor, but The Loadout says this dataminer has "a pretty good track record." Here's what the post says to expect:

New stuff on Clan System:

- 5,000 BP COST
- Title: 2-15 char., 6 num.
- Tag: 2-4 char.
- Slogan: 30 char.
- Presentation: 180 char.
- Members: 20
- "recruits" & "'résumés"

[Also 'No Clan' labels were found on the Leaderboard (removed)-- Clan could be linked with the new Ranked]

Skybolt Zack Released

Skybolt Zack is now available on Green Man Gaming, Humble Store, and Steam, offering a Windows platformer (which is also available on Switch) from self-loathing indie developer DEVS MUST DIE. The Launch Trailer offers a look at the game's fast-paced action, and the description explains what they feel makes this game unique:
Skybolt Zack is the result of a unique way of mixing platformer mechanics and colour matching gameplay.

Controls are tight and Zack’s ability to rocket punch, dash, focus, change direction when destroying an enemy and more, offers more depth than what meets the eye - following the “easy to learn, hard to master” mantra.

It’s a platformer where you don’t jump, and a music game where you dictate your own rhythm. It feels like no other game!

Op Ed

  • WCCFTECH - The Finance of Epic Games – Fortnite Subsidises All?
"Platform economies can be powerful drivers of businesses but Epic doesn’t particularly feel like it’s doing anything innovative with its Fortnite cash at the moment. Trying to gain traction in terms of market share of PC game purchases is undoubtedly a big pie that it may want to pursue but it feels like it’s simply throwing cash around while looking for the next big thing to eventually replace Fortnite cash as the game’s revenue profile dips. Is a game store with Unreal Engine exclusives really enough to replace what last year amounted to $2.4 billion in revenue? Possibly, but it seems unlikely."
