Ghost Recon Wildlands Teases Sam Fisher Mission

Ubisoft now offers a new Special Operation Teaser Trailer from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands: The Call, a special event coming to the tactical shooter, saying we can expect a "full briefing" on April 9th. In the meantime, it's not hard to deduce the twist here, as they make no effort to disguise the star of the clip as Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fisher, including the voice acting of the inimitable Michael Ironside, who is informed to "Brush up on your Spanish, you're headed for Bolivia." Blind Announced

Tiny Bull Studios announces Blind, a puzzle/adventure game coming soon for virtual reality devices, including Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, Open Source Virtual Reality, and PSVR. As the name implies, this explores blindness, sort of, as it adds a Daredevil-style echolocation feature or the game would be playable with nothing but headphones. This trailer shows how this works, and you can follow the project through its official website and its Steam page. Here's more:
Waking up in a strange room with scant memory of how she came to be there, a young woman makes the shocking discovery that she has lost her sense of sight. Goaded by the mysterious Warden, she must explore a twisted and frightening mansion using echolocation. Sound waves briefly reveal the outlines of objects, enabling her to navigate the mansion, solve puzzles and uncover the mystery of what is happening and why. As she gets closer and closer to the truth, however, she will be forced to confront her worst enemy – that which she does not, or will not, see.

Born out of the Global Game Jam in 2014, which had the theme of “we don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are,” the Blind team won the Best Game award at the Turin (Italy) jam site with their entry Come to See My House. Tiny Bull Studios took this prototype to the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March of that year, catching the eye of then fledgling indie label, Surprise Attack Games.

Together they decided to take the concept and develop it as a VR-only title. The game design has been heavily informed by the unique experience VR provides and the counter-to-popular wisdom approach of utilizing VR to restrict and control the player’s senses rather than flood them.

GTA Online Adds Targeted Races

Rockstar Games announces the latest goings-on in San Andreas, including a new truck and new target assault races where it can be driven. Word is you can earn double bonuses for the next week in GTA Online, and a bunch of items are on sale in the game, including the Mammoth Avenger aerial fortress. Here's more on the new extra-violent race mode:
In Target Assault Races, now available to play in GTA Online, teams of two strap into a range of weaponized vehicles - one behind the wheel, and the other on the trigger. The Gunner is responsible for destroying targets from a mounted gun, while the Driver races to outmanoeuvre the opposition for additional points on each lap. After each lap the Gunner and the Driver switch roles, and whichever team finishes with the most points wins.

Finishing laps in the top three and passing through Checkpoints ahead of your opponents will earn you bonus points, but accuracy is the name of the game here. You'll score more points for smaller targets, and even more for hitting them dead center. Scatter-shooters may feast on large green targets, but if you're racking up bullseyes on the elusive small red target, you'll soon eclipse them on the leaderboard.

As the Driver, play to your teammate's strengths — if your Gunner's on a streak, ease up on the throttle and let them rip through a few more targets before rushing to the next Checkpoint.

Target Assault Races are available to play today in GTA Online, with seven unique tracks featuring an assortment of assault-minded vehicles, including the new Vapid Caracara. Jump into the Target Assault Series blip on the map and earn Double GTA$ and RP all week long.

Sea of Thieves Planning Content Plans

A Sea of Thieves Blog post from executive producer Joe Neate covers top feedback points, starting with the respawn and teleport changes in the recent patch for Rare's seafaring adventure. This touches on other hot-topics for the community and how they are being addressed, including adding invitation-only crews, adding microphone status to their matchmaking criteria, and ways of detecting an punishing cheaters. This caps off with perhaps the most significant issue, which is when to expect more content, but there's no answer for that yet, as it sounds like all there is for now is a plan to make a plan:
We hear and understand that people are keen to understand what our plans are for updating Sea of Thieves, beyond the top experience fixes. We are currently in the midst of adjusting our roadmap based on feedback we have received since launch, with a ton of planning meetings continuing through this week. We plan to release a video next week updating everyone on how we plan to evolve Sea of Thieves moving forward. We totally understand that people want to see this ASAP, but the critical thing here is to have the right plan that allows Sea of Thieves to grow in the right way.

Razer Game Store Launches

A new Razer Game Store is online, offering a digital shop for video games from the hardware manufacturer. They kick things off with discount vouchers and bonus rewards from their new loyalty program. They promise this is all too legit to quit: "Razer works with its many publisher and developer partners to make sure that all games sold on the Razer Game Store are fully licensed and legitimate." Apparently an admitted error by their CEO (thanks PCGamesN) handed out an extra half-off coupon code, which, mirroring a previous incident, they cheerfully honored.

Rust Vehicle Update Rolls Out

The Rust Website details a new "vehicle update" that's now live in this survival shooter from Facepunch Studios. This adds boats as the game's first player-controlled vehicles along with a new NPC-operated helicopter dropping loot for players to fight over. They offer videos and details on the quite lengthy update, which covers a 199 entry change list. Here's a bit on the new boats:
Ahoy! The first player controlled vehicle has arrived in Rust. A motorized rowboat, with seating for one driver and three passengers, can be found on the shores of the island. They require Low Grade Fuel to operate, and have a small storage box located in the bow. If left outside too long they will decay, so you should build yourself a boat house. There will be about 64 active on a 4k sized server, so get 'em while they're hot! You can utilize these boats to access the offshore junk piles added this patch.

I won't go into crazy detail here, because our friends over at Rustafied.com have an excellent in-depth write up that I'd just be mirroring, so check them out for more.
