We were not able to stay ahead of our continued growth and multiple of our
backend services have been struggling under load the last several weeks (e.g.
friends functionality and general login service). And we also shipped v2.3.0
with significant bugs.
We don’t consider either acceptable. We have changed our release plans &
processes to help improve quality of client builds, and scrambled people to make
traction on backend scalability by any means possible.
When you play some Battle Royale, we want the time from when you’re in the lobby
to when you’re in the action to be as short as possible. We’re continuing to
work on load time improvements to help with that. You want a smoother in-game
experience, and we agree!
We are testing and bug fixing improvements that will deliver better level
streaming with less hitches. We’re getting close to being able to test a
significant optimization to our networking code that should get us closer to
running the server at a solid 20 Hz even in the beginning of the match.

actually follow through on making it every time I decide to. Using my old cook
overnight method, I probably only made a batch about half as often as the

recaps a livestream Beamdog held yesterday to discuss progress on
Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition
. Word is they are getting set to
resume beta testing on Steam
, but that this test will run concurrently with
the Head Start edition currently being played by preorder customers. Here's word
on the next phase of testing for the RPG remake:
- Throughout the coming week, we will be rolling out
early invitations to the NWN:EE beta on Steam. If you hop over to
Discord channel you will be able to request
a Steam key. Invitations will be limited on a day-to-day basis. On Feb 16,
we plan to email all Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition Head Start owners
- Activating a Steam key doesn’t disable your
Beamdog version. When the beta is over, beta Steam keys will deactivate and
Head Start owners will be supplied full NWN:EE steam keys for all NWN:EE
- The NWN:EE beta on Steam will support the Steam
Friends List. It’s as easy to use as you could think: on your Steam overlay
you choose the Friends List and invite a buddy into your game, without any
port-forwarding on your router.
