Destiny 2 Weapon Recoil Follow-up

Mark Noseworthy tweets a follow-up to his recent statement that weapons in the PC edition of Destiny 2 would have no recoil. The Bungie designer now backs off from that, saying:
Clarification on PC recoil from our PC Lead. It's still there; but heavily modified from console.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Standalone Coming

Activision confirms suspicions of a standalone version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, saying this will come to PlayStation 4 on June 27th and other platforms after that. This remake was originally part of deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and now it will be available on its own. Here's a new trailer, and here's word, which indicates the game's DLC map pack will be released separately:
Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a complete enhancement of one of the most critically-acclaimed games in history, will be available as a standalone release on Tuesday, June 27th, first on PlayStation 4 in stores and via download on the PlayStation Network, with other platforms to follow. The game includes the full campaign and the 16 multiplayer maps fans know and love from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, all released with stunning high-definition visuals.

“It’s been an honor to bring this great title, which holds such a special place in our hearts, to a new generation of players,” said Brian Raffel, studio head of Raven Software. “With Modern Warfare Remastered, we’re able to relive our favorite campaign levels and multiplayer moments in full HD visuals and remastered audio. No detail was too small, as the team pored over every aspect of development.”

In celebration of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered launch, players will also be able to participate in the newest seasonal Call of Duty event called, Call of Duty “Days of Summer.” The five-week community celebration begins June 27th and will feature a bevy of in-game giveaways, XP events and new playlists across multiple titles, including a new summer-themed map for Modern Warfare Remastered that will be available through the duration of the event, along with much more to be announced on Tuesday.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered features fully improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio, and much more. Fans will relive the full, iconic story campaign as they're transported around the globe with Capt. Price, Gaz and Soap across all the missions from the original game, including "All Ghillied Up," "Charlie Don't Surf," and "Crew Expendable." Players will also experience the online multiplayer mode that redefined Call of Duty by introducing killstreaks, XP, Prestige and more, and battle head-to-head in the fan-favorite maps from the original multiplayer mode, including classics such as "Crash," "Backlot" and "Crossfire."

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is rated M for Mature by the ESRB (Blood, Intense Violence, Strong Language), and will be available at SRP of $39.99. The package does not include the Modern Warfare Remastered Variety Map Pack.

Rockstar's GTA Mod Statement

With the recent hubub over Rockstar Games shutting down a GTA5 modification, some uncertanty has crept into the Grand Theft Auto modding scene. Rockstar attempts to allay these fears with a new statement addressing the topic. Basically, they say single-player mods are okay as long as they don't infringe on any IP or impact multiplayer play:
Question: Are PC Single-Player Mods Allowed?

Answer: Rockstar Games believes in reasonable fan creativity, and, in particular, wants creators to showcase their passion for our games. After discussions with Take-Two, Take-Two has agreed that it generally will not take legal action against third-party projects involving Rockstar’s PC games that are single-player, non-commercial, and respect the intellectual property (IP) rights of third parties. This does not apply to (i) multiplayer or online services; (ii) tools, files, libraries, or functions that could be used to impact multiplayer or online services, or (iii) use or importation of other IP (including other Rockstar IP) in the project. This is not a license, and it does not constitute endorsement, approval, or authorization of any third-party project. Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third-party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time in their own discretion. This statement does not constitute a waiver of any rights that Take-Two may have with respect to third-party projects.

Get Even Released

As the saying says, "don't get mad, get even," and here's your chance, as Get Even is now available for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Farm51's new first-person shooter has a horror/thriller theme, which you can see in action in the official launch trailer. You can get Get Even for Windows on Steam, and here's a rundown on what it offers:
In GET EVEN, players assume the role of Cole Black, an ice-cold mercenary and hired gun, as he suddenly awakens in the middle of a mysterious asylum with almost no recollection of his past, save for a haunting memory of a young girl in mortal danger. Under the guidance of his anonymous captor, ‘Red’, Black embarks on a form of treatment, facilitated by a unique technology - a headset that enables the user to relive his memories and experience them again in the present. With the help of the “Pandora” headset, Cole must traverse the abandoned asylum to confront unexpected plot twists and uncover the truth of his past to travel through the depths of his mind for salvation.

“We’re excited for gamers to experience the taut psychological horror of GET EVEN. The Farm 51 team has created a multi-dimensional storyline that immerses players into a compelling and frightening mystery, making them question their perception of reality and justice,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Intense action, chilling ambiance, and a tense musical score from award-winning composer Olivier Derivière come together to create an amnesiac nightmare that gamers won’t soon forget.”

Forza Motorsport 7 PC Plans

This video from NVIDIA talks with Ryan Cooper, executive producer of Forza Motorsport. The conversation covers how well Forza Motorsport 7 will take advantage of PC hardware. There's a slight disconnect, as there are two Xbox One logos in the background, another one on Ryan's shirt, and the interviewer and interviewee have green highlights in their hair from the Xbox lighting (let's just call it GeForce green). The do discuss the PC version, talking about how PC hardware will support 4K graphics and realistic weather effects. Continue here to read the full story.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice Trailer

This trailer offers a new look at Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, showing off the Hela character from the upcoming action/adventure. The accompanying update on the Hellblade website doesn't add anything, and the clip came with the same description we've seen before: "Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice comes from the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry. It is the story of Senua, a traumatised Celtic warrior journeying into the Viking underworld of hel." The game is slated for release for Windows and PlayStation 4 on August 8th. Out of the Blue

Finally caught up with the season three finale of Better Call Saul. So, yeah, wow. I was pretty sure heading into it I would like the show, but it has consistently exceeded expectations, which doesn't even make sense considering its Breaking Bad pedigree. The Sergio Leone-style pace of the show is part of its beauty, as nothing is rushed. And since it's a prequel that I love so much, I can only hope they slow down further. Maybe we can get 10 more seasons that each cover something like a week. Just a thought.
