The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein Leaks?

This post on NeoGAF shows an ad for The Evil Within 2 they say was appearing for a while on Reddit. Since such text ads just look like other Reddit posts, this wouldn't be that hard to fake, but the posters there and PCGamesN are convinced it is legit, and that the official announcement of the horror sequel will be part of Bethesda's E3 presentation. Speaking of Bethesda, PCGamesN also notes another possible leak, saying an ad for Wolfenstein: The New Colossus appeared on Amazon for a while before being pulled. If a new game in the WW2 shooter series is announced, it will make good on rumors that first popped up a couple of years ago. We'll know soon enough, as Bethesda's E3 presser is tonight, or technically tomorrow for us east-coasters, as it's conveniently slated for midnight eastern time.

Origin Access Free This Week

Origin Access is currently free to all, allowing the chance to sample this subscription service that allows access to EA games on Origin. This offer expires in eight days, and it's not clear if this can be combined with the seven-day free trials they have offered for some time now. Thanks DSOGaming, where they offer warnings on how to avoid ending up getting charged for this.

A Way Out Announced

Electronic Arts announces A Way Out, a co-op only adventure game coming to Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 early next year. The game is in development at Hazelight, creators of Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons, and it is described as story-driven, kicking off with an attempt to break out of prison. Here is the official reveal trailer, while this trailer features gameplay footage, and a narration explaining things from Josef Fares. The A Way Out website is already online, and here is the announcement:
Today Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA), in partnership with Hazelight, announced A Way Out, a new EA Originals game coming to players from the creative minds behind the critically-acclaimed indie title, Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons. Coming early 2018, A Way Out is a co-op only game uniquely tailored for two players to work together no matter the situation. Through a compelling narrative, Leo and Vincent will embark on an emotional adventure, where they will live some memorable action moments that they will face together including car chases, stealth passages, melee fights, shootouts and many more.

“Josef and his team at Hazelight represent everything that EA Originals stands for,” said Patrick Soderlund, Executive Vice President of EA Worldwide Studios. “They are a small and very talented group with a vision and passion for a game that is truly unique in the video game industry. A Way Out is going to surprise people with its innovative co-op gameplay and the way it tells an emotional story solely through these two characters.”

“This game is going to bring a co-op experience unlike anything you have ever seen before,” said Josef Fares, Writer and Director at Hazelight. “The idea for A Way Out came when me and a friend tried to find a story driven co-op game that wasn’t a drop-in/drop-out experience. We simply could not find a game like that. We’re also bringing an innovative look into how to tell the story of both these characters. Players will be immersed in the game with the way we change the display from a full screen experience seamlessly to different cinematic split-screen formats. By focusing on the two characters in different ways, it opens up a huge variety of gameplay, as we really wanted to avoid repetitions so they will get to know the characters through very different situations.”

The story of A Way Out begins in prison with two separate inmates, Leo and Vincent, who don’t know each other. While their individual stories progress, players will have to build a relationship based on trust as they break both men out of prison into the world beyond. This co-op only experience is meant to be played together with a friend on a couch or online.

A Way Out is being developed by Hazelight and will be available as a digital download in early 2018 on PC via Origin, Xbox One and PlayStation® 4. For more information on the game, head to .

Star Wars Battlefront II May Feature Microtransactions

The Star Wars Battlefront II EA Play trailer leaked yesterday disappeared shortly after it was mentioned, as is the way with leaks. Here it is for real, and if it gets yoinked now it's because EA put in a DMCA complaint on themselves. The clips shows off gameplay and some cinematics that look better than some of the CGI from the prequel trilogy. also has details on how content in the game will be unlocked. Apparently the battlepass that caused controversy in the previous game is not part of the plan here, as all DLC for the game is to be free. But they do note there's a likelihood that the game will be adding microtransactions:
EA also mentioned Star Wars Battlefront II will introduce a new system for unlocking content such as weapons and customisations called Battlepoints. While you will be able to earn this in-game, there will almost certainly be microtransactions that will help the publisher offset the lack of revenue generated by a season pass.
