Far Cry 5's Montana Setting Revealed

UbiBlog promises more details about Far Cry 5 on Friday, and in the meantime, offer a new teaser trailer showing off the game's setting of Hope County, Montana. This runs about 41 seconds, but there's also a this video which adds three additional teasers to total 2:30. These clips might suggest that the new installment in the action-packed series will involve harvesting fields or fly fishing, but the placid environments may also confirm rumors the game will have a western theme to match this western locale. Here's word on the plan to reveal some details this week: "We’ll have a lot more to say about Far Cry 5 this Friday, May 26 – but to whet your appetite (and because we’re terrible teases), here are a few brief postcards from Montana’s beautiful Hope County, pulled together into a single teaser video." Impact Winter Released

BANDAI NAMCO BADGER SNAKE announces the release of the Windows edition of Impact Winter on Steam, saying the console editions of the survival game are coming later this year. The release trailer offers a look at what to expect, and here's word:
Leading interactive entertainment media publisher and developer BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. today announces that IMPACT WINTER, a post-apocalyptic survival adventure game from developer Mojo Bones, is now available digitally in the Americas for PC via STEAM®. Digital versions will be available for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One later this year.

The year is 2018 and after a devastating asteroid collision, the world is buried deep beneath perpetual snowfall. Supplies are scarce and each day exposes a more difficult challenge to survive than the last. A mysterious radio transmission changes everything by bringing a glint of hope -- help is coming in 30 days. Players take on the role of Jacob Solomon as he leads a group of four other survivors, each with their own special skill sets, throughout a month-long journey to scour the land, acquire supplies, craft new tools and items, and stay united as a cohesive team to fend off the hostile winter and survive long enough until rescue comes. The music soundtrack was created by famed synthwave/electronic composer Mitch Murder.

“The talented team at Mojo Bones created a riveting story-driven adventure for players who enjoy survival and strategy games,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “Players have to face tough moral decisions, and fight to keep their teammates together, making IMPACT WINTER a uniquely powerful gameplay experience.”

TEKKEN 7 Specs

If you're specin' TEKKEN 7, look no further than the GeForce website where they have system specs for the brawler sequel with a headline saying "GeForce GTX 1060 & 1080 Ti Recommended For The Definitive Experience," outlining a broad performance range that seems anything but definitive. The distinction involves 4K gameplay, which is shown off in this previously released trailer. Here's word:
To run Tekken 7 at 4K at this level of detail, at a constant 60 FPS, the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is required. If your system doesn't sport the world's fastest gaming GPU, don't despair: Anti-Aliasing, Effects, Shadows, Post-Process Effects, and Motion Blur can all be dialed back to give your system enough frames for an excellent experience. Or you can try the "Dynamic Adjustment" setting, which will dynamically raise and lower the quality of settings as you play to ensure a smooth, consistent 60 FPS is achieved.

For other resolutions, such as the commonly-used 1920x1080 and 2560x1440, the GeForce GTX 1060 is recommended by Bandai Namco:

Tekken 7 Minimum System Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core Intel Core i3-4160 @ 3.60GHz or equivalent
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 660 or 750 Ti, or equivalent
  • RAM: 6GB
  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
  • HDD: 60GB free space
  • DirectX: Version 11

Tekken 7 Recommended System Requirements

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 3.5 GHz or equivalent
  • GPU: GeForce GTX 1060, or equivalent, or higher
  • RAM: 8GB
  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 (64-bit versions)
  • HDD: 60GB free space
  • DirectX: Version 11

PlatinumGames Teases New IP

DualShockers reports that PlatinumGames producer Atsushi Inaba revealed a new IP during a keynote address in Japan (thanks GameSpot). This is especially vague, as the Bayonetta studio currently refers to this as a "formless, shapeless IP." Here are the non-detailed details:
Inaba-san teased the existence of a “formless, shapeless IP” that he can’t talk about today. Interestingly, he also mentioned that on top of the new IP, it’s also going to involve a new director, and it’s going to be interesting to see how that new director will grow, and how he will help PlatinumGames grow as a company as well.

Next Dragon Age Discussion

An interview on Eurogamer chats with Alexis Kennedy, talking with the Sunless Sea writer about the next Dragon Age. Kennedy's move to BioWare last year inspired speculation that he'd be working on the Dragon Age series, and in their new conversation he officially lets that Dragon out of the bag. He offers some details on what he's doing, and here's the part where he confesses what game it's for:
"There are huge differences between all of that and what I'm working on at BioWare," he says, pausing - "which I can now legitimately say is in the Dragon Age franchise although it has been known for a while. Notionally it was a secret but, because of who I was working with, everyone who cared knew. And then the day I started, Mark Darrah [executive producer of the Dragon Age franchise] tweeted saying 'welcome to the Dragon Age franchise', so I thought, well, I guess that's official now then."

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Finale Next Week

Telltale Games announces A New Frontier will be released on May 30th, offering a fifth and final chapter for The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, the episodic zombie adventure. They promise a gameplay trailer and a developer commentary video next week, and in the meantime there's this overview of the finale:
Fellow survivors, the time has finally come!

We’re thrilled to announce the season finale for The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier will be available for download starting Tuesday, May 30. As with previous episodes, 'From the Gallows' is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC/Steam, iOS, and Android-based devices, and will automatically download for all season pass holders.

Thanks to the nuanced relationships you’ve developed over the course of this season, ‘From the Gallows’ will be Telltale's most tailored episode to date. As you know, Richmond teeters on the brink of collapse, and the lives of its citizens and all those closest to Javier hang in the balance. The decisions you've made and bonds you've nurtured will determine which characters now trust Javi to safeguard all they hold dear as this crisis pushes every relationship past its breaking point.

Obviously I’m not going to spoil anything, but...stuff’s about to go down. And don’t ask me about that key art!

The Silver Case Free Content and Sequel Plans

Grasshopper Manufacture reveals an update coming next week to The Silver Case next week adding new content to the remastered edition of this "adventure novel." These free additions are already present on the PlayStation 4 edition, and they help bridge the gap between The Silver Case and the game's upcoming sequel. This Tweet indicates the sequel will be a remake of The Silver Case: Ward 25, which was originally released for mobiles. Word is: "The 25th Ward: The Silver Case is officially going into production" (thanks Polygon). Here's more:
We are happy to announce two new scenarios will be added to “The Silver Case” HD remaster PC Version which tie the main story and its upcoming sequel together. “White Out” will be a new chapter added to “Transmitter” within the game, whereas “Yami” will be added to “Placebo”. This new content will be added in a free update.

In addition to this, some adjustments to the game regarding some movies/images and additional achievements will also be included in the update.

The update is scheduled for PC Platform distributers (Steam/PLAYISM/GOG/Humble Store) on May 30th, 2017 Japan Standard Time. We hope you look forward to it.

U.K. Sales Charts

Football Manager 2017 remains number one on the GFK Chart-Track chart of the 30 bestselling PC games in the U.K. for last week. This chart is pretty slow, as there a lot of reentries throughout. The all platforms chart is more dynamic, as Injustice 2 is the new number one, and FarPoint is new at number two. Here's this week's summary:
‘Injustice 2’ follows in the footsteps of its predecessor ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ by making No1 in the All Formats Chart in its launch week.

It is Warner’s first No1 of 2017 and the first ‘beat em up’ to reach No1 since ‘Mortal Kombat X’, also developed by NetherRealm and published by Warner, back in W18 2015. Sony’s new VR title ‘Farpoint’ debuts at No2, making it the highest position a ‘VR required’ title has ever reached in the All Formats Chart, surpassing ‘Playstation VR Worlds’ – which debuted at No7 in W41 2016. ‘Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia’ from Nintendo hits No5 in its launch week, while Focus Home Interactive’s new title ‘The Surge’ debuts at No10, forcing ‘Lego Worlds’ out of the Top 10 for the first time since its release, slipping to No11. A final new entry in the All Formats Top 40 goes to 505 Games with ‘Portal Knights’ in at No30. Several older titles re-enter the chart thanks to a retailer’s huge clearance sale, most notably ‘Skylanders Superchargers’, back in at No20 and ‘Destiny: The Collection’ back in at No31.

Out of the Blue

Okay, I'm going to sheepishly state we seem to be making progress on our home improvements. The ruined floor is now un-ruined, and the contactor we've ditched is making good on some of the problems he caused. Even more so, we think we've secured his replacement to finish things up once and for all. The bad news is this guy's quote is closer to the high end than what we were looking at previously, but the good news is that his reputation is impeccable, so hopefully he's worth it.
