BANDAI NAMCO announces a delay to IMPACT WINTER, saying the all-caps survival adventure needs precisely 41 days of additional development time, and is now due on May 23rd. Here's more on the delay, which says the game's scope has grown during development:

BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe and Mojo Bones announce today that the development of IMPACT WINTER needs a little bit more time to be completed. The post-apocalyptic survival adventure is going to arrive on May 23rd , 2017 on PC Digital. This will give more time to pre-order the PC Digital version and get the exclusive soundtrack created by composer Mitch Murder. The PlayStation®4 and Xbox One on digital versions are still planned to release later this year.

“Unfortunately IMPACT WINTER will now release a little later than expected, hitting Steam on 23rd May 2017. Why the delay? Well, the truth is, IMPACT WINTER has become a LOT bigger than we first expected: a pretty complex beast with lots of different systems and mechanics. Everything is in place, but one of our main priorities in the run up to release has been making sure that the initial stages of the game aren’t too overwhelming and that the overall experience is evenly balanced. Given the scope of the project and our team size it’s taking a little longer than expected. Ultimately, it’s all in aid of giving everyone the best experience possible which is the No.1 priority” explained Stuart Ryall Co-Founder and Designer at Mojo Bones Ltd on their website. “On the flip side, we’ve had some really positive feedback from our playtest sessions and the game is shaping up to be something unique, and definitely a lot more than we envisioned all those years ago.”

Agents of MAYHEM in August

Deep Silver announces Agents of MAYHEM, Volition's single-player, open-world, third-person action game, is coming to Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in the U.S. on August 15th and worldwide on August 18th. They celebrate the news with a trailer showing off the game's Bad vs. Evil theme, saying: "When they weren’t busy taking down Dr Babylon and generally causing havoc around Seoul, they took a time out to show you a little more about themselves and what they can do." Here's more:

After the horrors of Devil’s Night, the world was left in ruins from the devastation that the shadowy supervillain organisation LEGION had left in its wake.

They needed heroes.
They got the Agents of MAYHEM.

In a case of bad versus evil, this elite band of often unstable misfits, armed with a variety of crazy weapons, work under the watchful eye of Persephone Brimstone, ex-LEGION lieutenant, and her girl Friday, to bring down LEGION and its mysterious leader, the Morningstar.

Explore the city of Seoul with a team of three interchangeable agents, each with their own distinct look, sense of humour, weapons, and skillset. Players can build their team however they choose, switching from Daisy, a mini-gun wielding, beer-swigging, foul-mouthed derby girl, to Rama, an immunologist with a futuristic bow and energy arrows, to Red Card, a psychotic football hooligan with a temper that can literally clear a crowd.

With a toy box of twelve unique agents to choose from, players can jump between notable TV star/pretty boy Hollywood, to sky pirate and internationally infamous thief Fortune, as the mission demands.

So kick back, cue the action music and find out how to create your A-Team of agents!

U.K. Sales Charts

This Sims 4 returns to its home atop the GFK Chart-Track top 30 chart of the bestselling PC games in the U.K. for the week ending April 1st. Mass Effect: Andromeda slips to number two, and Football Manager 2017 retains its toehold on number three. Mass Effect: Andromeda stays number one on the all platforms chart and the new entry at number four is Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix. This write-up has more details:

EA’s ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ remains at No1 for a second week, equalling the 2 week consecutive run of ‘Mass Effect 2’ (‘Mass Effect 3’ only had 1 week at No1, replaced the following week by EA’s own ‘FIFA Street’.

Original ‘Mass Effect’ debuted at No12). Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Wildlands’ remains at No2 for a second week and Warner’s ‘LEGO Worlds’ is a non-mover at No3. Debuting at No4 as the only new release within the All Formats Top 40 is Square Enix’s PS4 6 game compilation ‘Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix’. This is actually the second Kingdom Hearts PS4 release this year, after ‘Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter’ which debuted at No 3 in week 4, 2017. In total, there have been 11 Kingdom Heart games released as boxed products in the UK and all have been single format releases, starting with the original ‘Kingdom Hearts’ for PS2 back in November 2002, which is also the top-seller in terms of units. There’s not a lot of movement in the next few chart positions, the highest climber is Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs 2’, up 11 places to No17 and there are a few re-entries, such as Activision’s ‘Destiny: The Collection’ at No24 and Ubisoft’s ‘Tom Clancy Rainbow 6: Siege’ at No25.

Out of the Blue

Today is opening day for my local New York Mets. This has often been a punch line over the years, but the fortunes of the Metropolitans have turned a bit in recent years, built on an electrifying young pitching staff. So there are some specific causes for optimism this season along with the more generic hopes that accompany everyone starting with an equal 0-0 record. That moment of equality has already passed anyway, as a couple of games were played already. So congrats to fans of the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Rays on their undefeated first-place showings. For the rest of us, play ball!
