Conan Exiles Sales Success; Future Plans Outlined

Funcom announces they've sold almost a half-million copies of Conan Exiles during early access to their survival game. They also restate their previously announced commitment to increase their investment in the game. Dawn of War III is available in three formats: Collector’s Edition, Limited Edition, and Standard Edition. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Delayed

CI Games announces the latest delay for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, saying the sharpshooting game will need a few weeks of additional travel time before striking the target on April 25th. The game was announced for release in 2016, but it was then delayed until this past January, then delayed again until April 4th. The announcement offers the expected sort of reasons for such news:

CI Games, creators of the Sniper Ghost Warrior and Lords of the Fallen series of games, has announced that Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will be delayed until Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

After some internal discussion with the development team, a decision was made to delay the release three more weeks to complete some final implementations based on feedback CI Games received during the beta.

“We’ve worked tirelessly creating a whole new Sniper Ghost Warrior experience set in an ambitiously crafted open world new to the series,” said said Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games. “While it’s an unfortunate decision to delay the game one last time, we believe these final changes will result in a better experience for players worldwide on day one. Thank you for your patience – we know the wait will be worth it.”

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 tells the story of brotherhood, faith and betrayal in the most complete sniper experience ever. Take the role of an American sniper named Jonathan North, who is dropped into enemy territory in northern Georgia, nearby Russian borders. Explore large open-world maps with dynamic weather and a day and night cycle that actually impacts play and decisions. Customize weapon equipment, accessories, vehicles and a drone, and utilize the three pillars of gameplay to your liking: Sniper, Ghost and Warrior.

U.K. Sales Charts

The Sims 4 keeps the number on spot on the GFK Chart-Track chart of the 30 bestselling PC games in the U.K. for the week ending March 4th. The top new entry on this chart is Torment: Tides of Numenera, which debuts at number seven. There's lots of action on the all platforms chart, where Horizon: Zero Dawn enters at number one, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild starts off at number two, 1-2 Switch debuts at number four, and Super Bomberman VR checks in at number seven. Here's what they have to say on the topic:

A bumper week for gaming is led by ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ which tops the chart as Sony’s biggest ever PS4 launch of a new IP (ahead of No Man’s Sky).

Released on Wednesday ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ is also the biggest launch of the year so far and Sony’s biggest launch since ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’. Ubisoft’s ‘For Honor’ (-45%) falls from No1 to No5, having to make way for both Horizon Zero Dawn and new Nintendo Switch titles. Released on Friday, Nintendo Switch brings with it ‘The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild’, which debuts at No2 for both Switch and Wii U. 78% of sales were for the Switch version with 22% for Wii U. The Switch version becomes the 3rd biggest ever launch of a Zelda title, behind ‘Wind Waker’ on Gamecube and ‘Twilight Princess’ on Wii. There were 5 new Switch games at launch, 3 of which enter the Top 10 including ‘1-2 Switch’ new at No4 and Konami’s ‘Super Bomberman R’ debuting at No7. The Switch version of ‘Just Dance 2017’ helps Ubisoft’s game re-enter the Top 40 at No24 (+68%), while the Switch version of ‘Skylanders Imaginators’ fails to lift the title back in to the chart. The only other new game to make the Top 40 this week is Telltale’s ‘The Walking Dead: The New Frontier’ which begins life at No19.

Out of the Blue

Over the weekend I finally got to see what all the fuss was about by binge-watching American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson. Holy cow did they ever do an impressive job in telling that story. There were some tremendous performances, and the casting was remarkable, though they sort of whiffed on O.J. That's too bad, as that's obviously of the most important parts in the production, though his unique appearance and demeanor were an extreme challenge to recreate.
