Creative Assembly announces The Grim & the Grave, new DLC coming to Total War: WARHAMMER on September 1st. This adds new premium content to the strategy game, and will come along with a free content update as well. Steam has details on the DLC along with preorders, and you can take a look in this trailer. Here's an outline of what's coming:

Following the best-selling Call of the Beastmen, Creative Assembly introduces The Grim & The Grave DLC pack for Total War: WARHAMMER, which includes the first Lord Pack and two new Legendary Lords from Warhammer Fantasy Battles – Volkmar the Grim for the Empire, and Helman Ghorst for the Vampire Counts. Alongside this, The Grim & The Grave also adds two new lord types to the game with the Vampire Counts receiving the fearsome Strigoi Ghoul King, and the Arch Lector, mightiest of all warrior priests, joining the Empire. Below is a breakdown for what The Grim & The Grave DLC will include:

  • Two new Legendary Lords…
  • …with new quest chains, magic items and skill trees
  • Two new additional Lord types
  • Five all-new battlefield units plus variants

To view the new trailer announce for Total War: WARHAMMER’s The Grim & The Grave DLC, please visit:

In addition, both the Empire and Vampire Counts unit rosters are being expanded with two brand new units each. The Knights of the Blazing Sun, the zealous Flagellants and versatile Free Company Militia join the ranks of the Empire, while the vampire counts will see their undead hordes imbued with dark magic by the gruesome Corpse Cart and volatile Mortis Engine. The rosters of both factions are also further expanded by the addition of Regiments of Renown, unique unit variants with special traits and abilities, whose prowess in battle have immortalized them in the annals of the Old World.

As part of Total War: WARHAMMER’s ongoing free content program, an update released alongside The Grim & The Grave will introduce a number of unique new battle maps and Vlad von Carstein as a free legendary lord for all players. The first – and arguably greatest – of the Vampire Counts is a nigh-unrivalled practitioner of the Lore of Vampires, granting Vanguard Deployment to all units under his command, whose thirst for the throne of the Empire rivals even that of Mannfred himself.

The Grim & The Grave will be releasing September 1st across all platforms for £5.99/$7.99. For more information on the DLC and where to pre-order it today, please visit the Steam page here:

Zombasite Released

Soldak Entertainment announced the release of Zombasite, their zombie action/RPG. Following an early access run the undead game is now live for Windows, Linux, and OS X. You can pick up a copy with a 25% launch discount from Soldak, GamersGate, Humble Store, and Steam. Here's word on the game:

Zombasite is a nasty, voracious, all-consuming Zombie Parasite. It doesn't just reanimate the dead into mindless zombies. It is intelligent, insatiable, and unstoppable—infecting and killing the living, spreading faster and in more ways, helping the dead utilize many of their original skills, and mutating the dead with new powers. Dark elf zombies are terrifying!

So what does this have to do with you? You are the leader of a clan trying to survive the apocalypse. This is easier said than done. When a follower dies, they can't be saved by any means. The Zombasite is highly contagious and zombies are quickly ravaging the world's surface. Food is a critical resource that must be obtained. Vendors are rare and have limited supplies. Some of the stronger monsters have survived and are as dangerous as ever. Clans of humans and monsters are fighting over what few supplies are left. Even within your own clan it isn't safe. Humans living on the edge are even more unstable than usual. So yeah, survival isn't easy.

  • Survive the zombie apocalypse in a fantasy world
  • Experience uniquely created worlds for every game, with different areas, monsters, items, and quests
  • Explore a dynamic, evolving, living world
  • Lead a clan of followers who have their own personalities and skills
  • Navigate relationships with rival clans using diplomacy, trade, war, and raids
  • Many hybrid classes to experience - 8 full classes, 24 specialties, 260 total combinations
  • Adventure with your friends with co-op multiplayer
  • Your choices truly impact the game!
  • Customize your experience with many character and world options including turning off zombies and clans.

PlayStation Now Coming to PCs

The PlayStation.Blog announces PlayStation Now is coming to Windows PCs. This will bring formerly PlayStation-exclusive titles when it launches in Europe soon and North America "shortly thereafter." It will also be supported by a new DualShock 4 USB wireless adaptor. Here's word:

We’re excited to announce that PlayStation Now is making the jump to Windows PC. The app launches overseas in parts of Europe soon and will come to North America shortly thereafter.

This will bring a wide selection of PlayStation exclusive titles to Windows PC for the very first time, including entries in the Uncharted, God of War, and Ratchet & Clank franchises, as well as beloved PS3 games like The Last of Us and Journey. Current subscribers have a new way to access PS Now’s library of over 400 games, and the PC app provides a new way for even more gamers to discover and play the service.

We’re also introducing a new device, the DualShock 4 USB Wireless Adaptor, which launches in early September for a suggested retail price of $24.99. This adaptor will let you connect a DualShock 4 to PC and Mac wirelessly, and will enable every feature of the controller you know and love: buttons, analog sticks, touch pad, light bar, motion sensors, vibration, and stereo headset jack – as long as the gaming application supports these features.

The adaptor is a great match for playing PS Now on a computer, but you can also use it for PS4 Remote Play on PC and Mac. If you haven’t yet downloaded Remote Play on your PC or Mac, grab the installer here. Of course, owning the USB Wireless Adaptor isn’t required, as you can connect a DualShock 4 using a USB cable.

Here are the recommended specs for running PS Now on your PC:

  • Windows 7 (SP1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more; 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

A minimum 5Mbps connection is required to use PS Now on any device. We recommend a wired Internet connection for the optimal experience.
We’ll be in touch to confirm the exact launch date of the PlayStation Now Windows PC app in North America, and stay tuned for some exciting games that will be added to the library.

Out of the Blue

So I was trying to be honest with myself in admitting I would probably end up watching some of the Olympics. I usually express disinterest and end up watching, so it seemed I was just being realistic. After all that I ended up not watching a single second of the games. Not even any replays or highlights. This wasn't so much deliberate as it worked out that way. But it's weird, because it usually seems difficult to escape them. I guess this speaks to changing TV viewing habits as much as anything. I'll see if this trend continues for the 2018 winter games.

Olympic Links: Thanks Ant and Acleacius.
Play: Fly With Rope 2.
Story: Man run over, killed by friend after trying to stop her from leaving party.
Science: Is beer better in Scotland? Is rum richer in Cuba? A VR taste test. Thanks HARDOCP.
