As we look to replace the unit that came with our house, I seek advice on
refrigerator installation. Not that there's much more to this than plugging one
in, but I have questions about sizing. Some investigation shows that there are
specific widths for fridges. Some units come it at just under 36", some top out
below 33", while others are just under 30". What we have now is 29-something
inches, but the space it is in is exactly 33" on the nose. So my question is,
can we actually get one of these mid-sized units? These are 32.75" wide and a
guide I saw called for eighth-inch side clearances. This sounds like a perfect
fit, but man is that cutting it close! And worse, one side of this space abuts a
wall. Fridge hinges don't need much clearance, but MrsBlue favors French doors.
So if it means fitting a bigger unit, opting for a single door is a sacrifice we
could make. Insight from anyone with experience with fridge installation/sizing
is welcome. But not if it's any trouble, as I'll presume you are a large person
that I do not mean to aggravate. Thanks!
