Heroes of the Storm DirectX 11 Patch on PTR

Battle.net offers patch notes for new version of Heroes of the Storm that's now running on the Public Test Ream for the MOBA/team brawler. They say this will run between now and July 11th, which is probably when to expect the new version to go live in the released version of the game. Included is a major balancing pass that attempts to clean up some unused talents and a couple of characters get major reworks. The new version adds the new hero Gul'dan, an XP bonus for playing as the auto-select character during lengthy queues, and performance improvements, including the addition of DirectX 11 support. Here's word on that: "This should help to reduce memory usage, increase performance while the game is not the primary focus window, and allows for further optimization improvements in the future."

He was asked, "Nuka World going to be the last Fallout 4 DLC or are you guys planning more as the year goes on?" He replied, simply, "last one." Thanks Gamerant via Wallshadows.

Steamship Ahoy - Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII

KOEI TECMO announces the release of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, saying the strategy sequel is now available for Windows and PlayStation 4, with the PC edition up on Steam. Here's the launch trailer, and here's word:

Explore the myriad of experiences within the world of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, covering Civil Development, Diplomacy, Debates, Duels, open field battles, sieges, naval battles and more with gameplay differing depending on the situation at hand. Cities can be built and developed; alliances can be fostered or broken; armies can be mustered and deployed. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII prides itself on offering a wide range of options for conflict resolution including a robust army composition selection, while special care has been taken to incorporate diplomacy and personal relationships, giving the player an extra incentive to build a stable and loyal network of friends and allies.

This comprehensive and exceptionally detailed strategy title features two compelling gameplay experiences: A campaign mode provides the freedom to choose a starting year and customize the board to the player’s liking, and Hero Mode closely follows historical events while teaching players all of the game’s mechanics. Players must decide for themselves whether they will follow a favorite historical figure to glory, or rise up and claim their place in history by uniting China under their own banner!

Umbrella Corps Free DLC This Week

CapCom Unity has details on a DLC pack coming on Thursday to Umbrella Corps to add Spencer Mansion from the original Resident Evil to the game. Here's their outline of what this will bring:

Attention all the battle-hardened mercenaries climbing the online ranks of Umbrella Corps: a new zombie-filled warzone is on the horizon. Players will be able to return to the infamous Spencer Mansion from the original Resident Evil to engage in fast-paced, 3-on-3 battles via free DLC coming later this week.

The iconic Mansion may have been blown to smithereens at the end of the first RE, but this nostalgic DLC pack lets players step through the ornate halls and corridors once again. Use your memory of the Mansion’s unique layout to your advantage as your pursue and ambush enemy combatants with your lethal Brainer axe weapon. Take cover behind the statue that once housed the useful map of the Mansion’s 1st floor, or wage war in the deserted west wing dining room. Of course, you’ll want to beware of the zombified Umbrella researchers roaming the halls as well as enemy players.

Blizzard Sues Over Overwatch Cheat?

TorrentFreak has details on a lawsuit filed in California court by Blizzard against a company called Bossland Hacks over sale of a cheat program for Overwatch called Watchover Tyrant. They say the lawsuit is for "various forms of copyright infringement and unfair competition," though there is some confusion, as Bossland Hacks says they have not received this complaint, and are not even sure it's legitimate. If it is, Bossland seems defiant, saying the California court has no jurisdiction over their German company, and claiming to have prevailed in a previous suit over a Heroes of the Storm bot. Thanks Polygon.

Out of the Blue

We got through the Independence Day weekend unscathed, and celebrated in a low key manner, especially so because it seems we had fewer fireworks than ever. So it was surprisingly quiet, which was fine by me. Thankfully, it didn't really matter to the Gunnar-man, as he is as chill about loud noises as he is about everything else, so even the one big outburst of explosions didn't bother him in the slightest. That's a trait I wish you could teach... it would be a blessing for so many dogs, particularly my late buddy Hudson the wonder dog.
