This video calls
out online gambling site CS:GO Lotto for deceptive practices, saying "CSGO has
reached peak shadiness" in examining the hidden ownership of the site, following
up on
a previous video
on the topic. They demonstrate that Trevor "TmarTn" Martin and Tom "Syndicate"
Cassell, each followed by millions of users (presuming these users are real as
well), are apparently the site's owners and operators. This is a fact neither disclosed while heavily shilling for the site, which allows players to gamble
for
Counter-Strike: Global Operations skins, and indirectly, cash, and
there are videos of each showing surprise and elation when they "won" items
through their own site.
Eurogamer notes that attempts to visit the site through Steam now produce a
scam warning, though arguably visiting a site that allows anonymous gambling
over the internet should probably have triggered everyone's internal scam warnings in
the first place.

The Sims 4 returns home to the number one spot on
GfK Chart-Track's PC top 30 chart of the bestselling games in the U.K. for
the week ending July 2nd. Last week's number one,
Football Manager 2016,
is now number two, and
Overwatch is number three.
LEGO Star Wars: The
Force Awakens sits atop the
all platforms chart, while the new
DOOM game drops to number four.
Here's
their summary
of the new activity:
Released on Tuesday ‘Lego Star Wars: The Force
Awakens’ becomes the 9th different Lego game to debut at No1 in the All Formats
Chart.
It is the 4th biggest Lego video game launch of all time, behind Indiana Jones,
Marvel Super Heroes and Batman, although ‘Lego Star Wars II: The Original
Trilogy’ sold more in its second week of launch. It is also the 4th biggest
launch for a Star Wars title, behind Battlefront, The Force Unleashed and
Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith. May the 4th be with it…! ‘Doom’ (-17%) slips
from No1 to No4 behind solid performances from both ‘FIFA 16’ (+17%) at No2 and
‘Overwatch’ (+9%) at No3. ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’ (-19%) drops two places
to No5, while Square Enix has this week’s next highest new entry with PS4 RPG
‘Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness’ new at No6. ‘Rocket League’ falls one
place to No7, however sales are up an impressive 20% in its second week of
launch.
The arrival of Telltale Games’ ‘7 Days to Die’ at No9 mean that there are three
new games that break in to the Top 10 this week, while outside the Top 10 there
are debuts for ‘The Technomancer’ at No13 and ‘Minecraft: Wii U Edition’ at
No18. Price promotions on ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ (+72%) and ‘EA Sports UFC
2’ (+93%) push them both up the chart to No’s 10 and 14 respectively.
Happy Independence Day to all who are celebrating the occasion here in the U.S.
And since those celebrations often involve liberal doses of alcohol and amateur
application of high explosives, please be careful. This is a round number
anniversary, as we stand 240 years out from July 4, 1776, so we are just a
decade off from celebrating the Declaration of Independence's sestercentennial
or semiquincentennial (yes, I looked those up). There's an old "brain teaser"
American children pull on each other based on the alternative name for this
holiday where you ask "Do they have the 4th of July in England?" The answer is
yes, they have it everywhere, it's right there on the calendar between the third
and the fifth. So in that vein, happy fourth of July to everyone!
