Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Breach Mode Revealed

Square Enix announces Deus Ex GO, saying this will be a turn-based infiltration puzzle game coming to phones and tablets this Summer. Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO both ended up on Steam, so this may as well (here's a reveal trailer). At the same time they also unveil Breach mode, which will be part of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided when that's released on August 23rd. They provide a Breach 101 trailer introducing the mode, which has a decidedly arcade approach to the game that's a first for the action/RPG series, and an untextured style, which (like Hansel) is superhot right now. Additionally, they provide a city-hub trailer showing off gameplay, and word on that is: "Get your first glimpse at the city-hub of Prague in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, an expansive and dense location which will allow players to meet a variety of characters, take on side-quests, and explore indoor and outdoor areas. For the purpose of this demo, we activated infinite life, energy, and ammo." Here's more on Breach mode:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach is an innovative game mode included in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This new take on the game offers, for the very first time, an arcade approach on the gameplay of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, providing players with a connected puzzle shooter experience. As a Ripper, your objective is to obtain and sell highly classified corporate data by infiltrating some of the world’s most secure servers, using the funds you acquire to upgrade both your skills and arsenal. As you play, the rewards you earn, including XP, credits, and booster packs, will allow you to face the increasing difficulty of the game. Challenge yourself, your friends, and people from around the world in the ultimate Deus Ex® arcade twist. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach is a live game mode, introducing new challenges and features by rolling out updates on a regular basis.

“We are introducing a brand new game mode to Deus Ex. In addition to being a new visual approach for the players, the Breach mode broadens the lore of the Deus Ex universe,” said David Anfossi, Head of Studio at Eidos-Montréal. “Breach also reinforces Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s gameplay experience with a totally different setting.”

Deus Ex GO is a turn-based infiltration puzzle game set in a stylized interpretation of the Deus Ex Universe. As double agent Adam Jensen, you’ll use hacking, combat, and augmentations to solve the most challenging puzzles of the entire GO series. Work alongside your allies in TF29 and the Juggernaut Collective as you infiltrate locations to unravel the conspiracy behind a terrorist plot.”

Watch Dogs 2 in November

The promised world premiere livestream for Watch Dogs 2 just concluded, the first official showing of the open-world hacking sequel. Ubisoft offered a video presentation for the game in which the developers discuss what went well and what was "less good" in the original game, and their plans for a follow-up. The clip confirms the game's San Francisco setting, and also includes the game's cinematic reveal trailer, a hip-hop celebration of anarchy and tech hacking, which is a bit odd coming from a technology corporation. The developers go into the creation of a new protagonist for their new environment, and also discuss creating a world that seems less centered around every action of the main character. This time around you play as Marcus Holloway, and he has a trailer of his own, introducing a character with more parkour and combat moves than his predecessor. They also show off additional hacking targets, an improved combat system, enhanced crafting, and more, expressing a goal of allowing the player to choose a personal balance between combat, stealth, and hacking to accomplish missions. They conclude confirming plans to release Watch Dogs 2 on November 15, 2016. Continue here to read the full story.

Rainbow Six Siege Cheaters to be Perma-Banned

The Rainbow Six website outlines an updated code of conduct for Rainbow Six Siege, establishing a zero tolerance policy for cheating in the multiplayer first-person shooter. They say violators will be permanently banned after a first offense:

The presence of cheating in the game is something we take very seriously, and is a priority on the development team. This update is one step among many that we are working on to better engage with the community on this issue.

UPDATED CODE OF CONDUCT SECTION:

Cheating/Modding/Hacking: Player is running a modified or otherwise unauthorized version of the game client or a third party software which provides any sort of unfair advantage (wallhacks, aimhacks…) or causing detriment to other players’ experience: Maximum penalty is permanent ban on first offense.

For more information on this update to the Code of Conduct, and how Permanent Bans will work, please see this FAQ.

The Steam page for Trackmania Turbo now offers a playable demo for the latest installment in Nadeo's racing series. Thanks to Frans for pointing out that in addition to a Steam account, playing this will require users to register with Uplay, Ubisoft's online service. It also looks like the demo can be acquired without Steam, as this page indicates it can be downloaded straight from Uplay (it also outs how late we are with this news, as it appears the demo came out in March). That page also includes details on the demo:

Out of the Blue

I want to thank Brian, a user who registered an account here yesterday to suggest I get myself tested for Lyme disease, as the symptoms I describe fit that pretty well. Recalling Hudson the wonder dog's bouts with Lyme remind me that her limping was the first symptom we noticed, so my achy joints fit that aspect of it too well. I'll call the doctor today, and hopefully they can get me in pretty quickly for a blood test and/or examination. This will be unusual for me, as I am not someone who is prone to visiting the doctor when I'm not feeling well. I think the last time I was at the doctor outside of a checkup was when I had knee surgery, and the last time I went to the doctor because I was feeling ill was when I had the chicken pox as a little boy.
