A post on the Mighty No. 9
website announces that this Mega Man homage is gold, and is due on June 21st
in North America and June 24th elsewhere. Keiji Inafune says there will be no
further delays and these dates are "set in stone," though the portable versions
for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS "will follow at a later point." Here's
more on the news: It has been almost three years since the start of our
Kickstarter campaign, which was only made possible through the support of our
backers and fans around the world. This is a project where everyone’s passions
were combined in order to create something very special, and we are looking
forward to delivering the final product to everyone who was involved. There can
be no stronger connection between game creators and game fans.
Now that the dust has settled, we will be delivering Mighty No. 9 to everyone
next month. How long will it take you to clear the main story on NORMAL? How
many people are going to be able to clear MANIAC mode? What is going to be the
fastest record for the time attack mode? We are looking forward to seeing the
community answer all of these questions for us! Make sure to let us know your
feedback and thoughts on the game through our SNS channels as you play the game.
Your voices are what made this game possible, and we want to continue hearing
what you think so that it may influence our future endeavors. “

Slitherine announces Scourge of War: Quatre Bras, an upcoming expansion
for Scourge of War: Waterloo, the Napoleonic wargame (a surprise to us, since
with thought Quatre Bras was French for "four bras"). There are details and
images on the
Matrix Games website, where they list the game's release date as "coming
soon." Here's an outline of the scenario this covers: Scourge of War:
Waterloo has been considered one of the best tactical wargames set in the
Napoleonic period, mainly because it simulates with surprising accuracy all of
the key variables that were decisive on those battlefields. Property of the
historical weapons such as range or reliability, formations including line,
square and close order and meticulous recreation of the map are only some
examples of what this award-winning engine is capable of.
Scourge of War: Quatre Bras extends this experience and brings a new epic battle
to the series. In the 5 scenarios of Quatre Bras, players are able to control
their troops in a historical 5-mile x 5-mile battlefield map and to experience
an extensively researched and precise order of battle. The game puts players at
the top of the chain of command but also allows them to play at a lower rank.
They will also have to deal with orders coming from their superiors while
finding an effective way to maneuver their own units.
Thanks to in-depth research, the game includes historical unit names, weapons,
leaders and formations: the Armée du Nord commanded by Marshall Ney is ready to
face Wellington’s Anglo-Allied Army. The goal of the French is clear: if they
manage to take control of the crossroads, they will prevent the Prussians from
meeting the British Army at Waterloo.
Paradox Interactive offers
a new video for Stellaris on experience and modding in the upcoming
real-time strategy game. They also announce the game's mod support will include
a new tool called the Clausewitz Maya Exporter, which is now available as a free
download through their
Paradox Account. This tool will also work for Hearts of Iron IV, and
they are giving those interested an early chance to check it out. Here's more on
custom content support in what they are calling their most "moddable game yet":
Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studio today released a new
developer video alongside an equally new 3D model exporter tool that will allow
users to create full conversion mods for games such as upcoming grand strategy
titles Stellaris and Hearts of Iron IV. The tool, named Clausewitz Maya
Exporter, makes it easier for community creators to introduce their own models
and units into the latest Clausewitz engine games, with full support for
upcoming titles and partial support for Europa Universalis IV and Crusader Kings
II.
“Modding has always been a core part of our games. Many fans of ours became
exposed to our games through mods and working with these users and creators has
always been important to us” says Henrik Fåhraeus, Game Director for Stellaris.
“The community has been asking for more total conversion mods and we want to
make it easy as possible for our talented fans to make them”
“Any gameplay exposed to the player in Stellaris should be moddable,” says
Stellaris Game Designer, Joakim Andreasson, “So our modders can change pretty
much every value, most of the game rules, and the content they see within the
game”

Activision officially announces Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a futuristic
next installment in the first-person shooter series, saying this is expected for
worldwide release on November 4th. This is not very
surprising, as this comes shortly after a
new teaser trailer
and a hint or
two about the
title. Here's a reveal
trailer which shows off all sorts of sci-fi combat on foot, in mechs, and
between huge spaceships.
Infinity Ward also offers a
new behind-the-scenes
video with a look at the heritage of the series and discussing what the it
means to them and their inspirations to make a new installment.
The
developer also tweets plans for a livestream today on
Twitch at 1:30 pm EDT. Here's the
announcement, which confirms that some packages will also include Call of
Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, a version of 2007's Call of Duty 4:
Modern Warfare updated by Raven Software: Call of Duty® is returning
to its roots for a classic, epic battle of two armies unlike anything seen
before in the record-setting series. Call of Duty®: Infinite Warfare will launch
worldwide Friday, November 4, immersing players in a war story that, for the
first time in franchise history, extends beyond the reaches of Earth into the
vast expanse of our solar system. Published by Activision and led by Infinity
Ward, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will also be available as the Infinite
Warfare Legacy Edition, which includes the return of the full campaign and 10
multiplayer maps from the famed Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare®, released in
high-definition brilliance as Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® Remastered*.
Infinite Warfare and the Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition, featuring Modern
Warfare® Remastered, will be available for PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment
system, Xbox One, and PC.
"This year, we're both honoring the heritage of Call of Duty while taking
players to incredible new heights," said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision
Publishing. "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a bold, new vision from the
studio that created the original Call of Duty and Modern Warfare, and an
adventure on an insanely epic scale that only Call of Duty could deliver. And
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is one of the most beloved games of
all-time, reborn for a new generation. We have lovingly remastered it with a
whole new level of graphical fidelity and realism that wasn't possible when the
original was released. It's going to be a great year for Call of Duty players."
"With Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, we are taking Call of Duty to places fans
have never experienced in the series," said Dave Stohl, Studio Head of Infinity
Ward. "On one hand, this game is the kind of gritty, boots on the ground,
visceral war story that Call of Duty is known for. On the other, its future
setting takes players on a journey of epic scale and proportions, providing
incredible gameplay innovations and new experiences for our fans. This is a
grand scale, old-school, all-out war in an epic new-school setting. And it's
going to be a hell of a lot of fun."

InSomnia (PC, Mac, Linux) by Studio MONO — Kickstarter. Now offers a
playable prologue for
Windows, OS X, and Linux for this dieselpunk RPG. Word is: "The aim of the
Prologue Chapter is to introduce the player to the many mechanics of the
final game. However, it's still treated as alpha-version; there are still
many aspects that will be changed in the future."
The good news about my FiOS installation is that we did not lose our phone
numbers, and at some point we got them properly ported over. This has things
almost worked out here, though one of the lines on one of the phones
has an issue, which was almost certainly a wiring issue caused by our amateur installer. The
good news is that someone is coming by today to look at this, the bad news is I
think it's the same app programmer that the striking telecom firm sent to do the
initial install. Hopefully this will be simple enough to handle... I'm tempted
to ask them to wait until the strike is over to try to get this worked out.
