A new "Hearts and Minds
101" trailer is a new "featurette" from Homefront: The Revolution shows the
propaganda war that occurs alongside the shooting war in the upcoming insurgency
shooter sequel. Word is: "the new ‘Hearts and Minds 101’ featurette showcases
how players can perform actions in the open world – the red, yellow, and green
zones - in Homefront®: The Revolution, and earn the support of the oppressed
population of occupied Philadelphia through unique gameplay mechanics." Deep
Silver also outlines details on the game's Merits system, which will unlock
combat gear for the co-op Resistance mode. Here's more on how that will work: Deep
Silver today unveiled the Homefront®: The Revolution ‘Merits’ program, a reward
plan for members of the Homefront community.
Anyone can simply go to Homefront-Game.com and begin earning Merits by
completing missions on the site to dive deeper into the lore of the universe.
Each Merit earned unlocks a corresponding piece of Combat Gear from the Red
Rebel set, which can be used to customize your co-op character in Resistance
Mode.
Once merits are achieved, players will see the associated in-game Combat Gear
unlock by linking their Homefront profile to their Xbox LIVE, PSN or Steam
account. Seven merits are currently available at the launch of this program,
with more to come between now and when Homefront: The Revolution launches on May
17 in North America. Continue here to read the full story.

for free for all owners of ANNO 2205. This adds new quests and features
as well as a new harder difficulty mode. The update also includes details on
future DLC plans for the strategy sequel: Have you conquered land, sea,
and space in Anno 2205? Is your corporation at the top of the global heap? Do
you hunger for a new challenge? Then you’ll want to check out the Veteran’s
Pack, which is out now and free for all Anno 2205 players. Among other things,

corporation and its settlements. The Veteran’s Pack also comes with new kinds of
quests, the option to exclude certain goods from consumption, a quick-view mode
for all buildings in a sector, and an assortment of performance updates and
tweaks including faster load times.
The Veteran’s Pack arrives alongside new details about Anno 2205’s upcoming
expansions. In May, the free Big Five Pack will introduce a new feature called
Economic Warfare, which challenges you to fight for shares of the five most
successful corporations, while also defending your own from hostile takeover.
The Big Five Pack also introduces Sector Effects, which can add a permanent
positive or negative effect to your sectors.
Big Five will be followed in June by Orbit, which enables you to design and
control a modular space station with its own science, research, and upgrade
systems. Orbit will be available as a standalone purchase or as part of the Anno
2205 Season Pass.

Polygon has word from Chucklefish Games that Stardew Valley has now
sold over a million copies. The spies at
SteamSpy note the game has sold well over 900K copies, but the publisher
tells Polygon the total is higher than that: "It's actually at 1,007,000 [copies
sold] as of now." Chucklefish notes their pleasure at helping this one-developer
project get out there: "It's been really exciting for us to help bring this game
to people's attention," the Chucklefish representative said. "And the success
really couldn't have come to a more deserving person!"
The Steam page for
Nekro is no longer selling the early access version of this action/RPG. The
explanation for what's going on seems to be in a user review apparently from one
of the project's creators, who outlines problems that may not get sorted out:
I am 50% owner of darkForge games LLC and I am responsible for creating
all the visual art you have come to know as Nekro. Below is an update of what
the state of the game and company is in. I am posting this so that you – the
loyal fans and community can rally behind me to get this game completed and
receive all your physical rewards. There is no doubt this post, and all else I
make will be deleted so please propagate and keep this for future reference:
What Happened:
Nekro was originally supposed to be a 1-1.5 year development cycle after the
Kickstarter campaign. While blame can be placed on a great many things we never
actually had funding other than the Kickstarter and our personal finances of
which I spent every penny I had. So we decided to rush to Early Access to help
fund the completion of the game.
Once we got funding rolling in I heard the same story year after year, Scott
would say “I can't do it, I need another year”. This happened for 2 years. Bear
in mind Scott was taking 100% of all revenue even though we have a contract that
explicitly states he can only take 50%. His reasoning was - “this is the only
way we are going to finish the game”. So I obliged him, to the projects
detriment. The last 5 months of 2015 however it became glaringly obvious what
was happening. Scott was taking 100% of the revenue still but he stopped working
on the game, he became too comfortable making money with no ambition to
continue. I told him. “you cannot take funds from the game unless you are
working on it!” This sent Scott into an uproar and he blocked me out of every
account there is; the website, the Kickstarter, the steam account, and finally
he took the last funds and shut-down the LLC bank account. To add insult to
injury I was forced to pay over $1,000 of my own money for the 2015 California
tax License as well as paying 50% of the taxes from the 2015 revenue of which
Scott that he took 100% for his own personal benefit. Since Scott has blocked me
from contacting him in any way.
The Future of Nekro:
There is no future unless I get ownership of darkFroge LLC and Nekro. I have
most of the physical rewards and am dying to ship them. The game is almost
complete as it is - so I would be able to finish the rest of the game in a short
period of time after the transfer. What I ask of you is be very loud and demand
that Scott hands over the assets and accounts to the game, and I promise I will
not only complete the game but also give funds for those who worked on the game
and were never paid.

A tweet from 2K UK
teases something related to BioShock Infinite, showing an image of Booker
and Elizabeth. This may be something new or a collection of previously released
material, a theory that's supported by the trophies displayed in the background.
Sounds like we'll know soon enough, as word is: "Good morning from Booker and
Elizabeth! Hope you all have a fantastic day! It's going to be an exciting one!"
Thanks nin.
Battle.net says to expect another beta weekend for Overwatch starting
on Friday, saying they will open this up to a larger number of players for a 36
hour period. This continues to be an invitation-only affair, and they say they
will begin flagging additional accounts for inclusion starting tomorrow
afternoon so that invitees can preload the client. Here's more on what testing
of the teamplay shooter will involve at this time: During the Beta Test
Weekend, all players (including those currently in the Closed Beta) will have
access to the full roster of 21 heroes and a limited selection of maps:
Hanamura, Route 66, and Nepal. Certain features will also be unavailable during
this Beta Test Weekend including Weekly Brawl! and Competitive Play.
Since this is a stress test, we're primarily interested in your technical
feedback, like how Overwatch runs on your system, your experience with the beta
servers, critical bug reports, and other game-impacting problems. One of our
goals is to push our hardware to the limit, so don't be surprised if you
experience performance issues or run into unexpected downtime—that's all part of
the process.
A post on NeoGAF
has workarounds for issues users have encountered playing Dark Souls III,
including a crash to desktop that can occur when approaching bonfires. The post
suggests this problem is impacting owners of NVIDIA cards below the 900 series.
