Bethesda.net has a look at the nine multiplayer maps that will launch with
id's upcoming DOOM game when it's released for Windows and consoles in
May. They offer a screenshot,
this trailer, and the
following rundown: DOOM – Multiplayer Maps Explored
From the blood-soaked UAC facilities on Mars to the fiery depths of Hell, DOOM
multiplayer will take you on a tour of 9 deviously diverse locations. While each
multiplayer map is distinct, they all share a few traits in common. For
starters, you’ll need to stay in constant motion to stay alive; every map is
constructed to keep the action brutally fast-paced. These multi-tiered combat
arenas are littered with hazards, and packed with items that can turn the tide
of combat at a moment’s notice. And while they all have secrets for you to
uncover, none of them are built to allow for easy sniping or hiding points.
DOOM multiplayer launches with 9 unique maps, four of which are prominently
featured in the video below. Check it out for a taste of what’ll you’ll
experience when DOOM releases on May 13 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Along with what we showed in the video, a few more notes about the maps: Continue here to read the full story.

Grip Digital and Right Nice Games announce Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover
Island, an action/platformer coming to Windows and consoles later this year.
This teaser trailer
sets the story and shows off some gameplay, and the announcement offers some
details: Grip Digital, the team behind the sci-fi exploration game The Solus
Project, and developer Right Nice Games, have unveiled today 'Skylar & Plux:
Adventure on Clover Island', a single-player action-platformer game. Headed to
the PlayStation 4 system and Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment
system from Microsoft via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program, and PC later in
2016, Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island embraces a colorful, vibrant
world of 3D platforming seemingly forgotten in today’s cluttered world of MOBAs
and Survival games.
Following the best traditions of the third-person platformer/action genre,
Skylar & Plux: Adventure on Clover Island sets two unlikely heroes on an
adventure to prevent the villainous CRT from conquering their home and turning
it into a wasteland. Skylar was designed by CRT and turned into his most potent
weapon – wielding a powerful mechanical arm augmentation -- but now, she must
become a heroine-against-her-will to defy her makers and forge a new destiny.
And Plux is the eloquent sidekick that every good action platformer needs to
have.

The Egypt Civilization website
now offers a playable Windows and OS X demo of this strategy game set in this
cradle of civilization. The demo is provided in exchange for your email address,
and while they do not specify what the demo contains, we have a rundown on the
game itself, which is due in the third quarter of this year: Egypt Civilization is a turn-based historical strategy where players will act
as the Grand Vizier, right-hand man of the almighty Pharaoh, ruler of Egypt.
Starting from 5000 B.C. you will guide the Egyptians through all the hardships
to prosperity and power. Get ready to march into faraway lands, fight
catastrophes and hardships. The game covers almost 4000 years of Egyptian
history, starting from the dawn in 5000 BC till the decay in 1070 BC.
During the game players will control all three capitals of Ancient Egypt.
Hierakonpolis – predynastic period. Memphis - Old Kingdom. Thebes – Middle and
New Kingdom. All cities are accurately rebuilt according to historical and
archeological documents.
As the Grand Vizier, players will control the life of Ancient Egypt – manage
resources, assign workers, build new districts, temples and palaces.

The
Gearbox Software website follows the
news that Battleborn is gold with details on Gearbox's plans to
support the multiplayer shooter once it's released. Gold has become a more
nebulous term in the post-disc era, so this roadmap includes plans for open beta
testing, which they say will begin soon. They also discuss plans to release new
characters for free and to make frequent balance updates, indicating they will
both lead and follow the community in shaping the future of the game. The update
is too lengthy to reproduce in its entirety, so here's an excerpt:
Ultimately, we have big plans for Battleborn. The launch of the game is
just the beginning! Battleborn has already become a regular gaming hobby for us
at both Gearbox and 2K. It’s our ambition that Battleborn will become a favorite
game for you, too! We know that Battleborn’s value over time really depends on
our commitment and investment in the Battleborn community as it grows and
evolves. As the Battleborn gaming hobby becomes our focus post-launch, we have a
couple of core principles that will guide us as we reach that objective:
1.Battleborn is a full-featured, AAA video game. As such, solo players,
cooperative players (including couch co-op) and competitive players are all each
very important to the Battleborn community and shall all be supported by
developers who are themselves passionate about each of these styles of play
2.Post-launch support will be robust and will allow for regular balance
adjustments and regular, free new content to be added that is designed to
enhance and enrich the game and the community. Gearbox Software will adapt with
the Battleborn community over time in support of the game, sometimes leading and
sometimes being led by the community of players.
Once the game is live, we’ll be able to collect feedback from you, the players,
on how to make the game better. We’ll learn what you like playing and what you
want more of. We’ll discover how you play the game and be able to deliver more
of what makes the game fun and challenging. And we will remain focused on
keeping the game balanced for all players, because for us balancing isn’t an
event, it’s a discipline.
This process will start before Battleborn even launches as we deploy an open
beta soon. The open beta will be helpful for stressing our still in-beta backend
services while also generating more player minutes than we could ever possibly
hope to have with internal testing that will help to improve the quality,
balance and polish of the game in updates that are ready on-time for the game’s
official retail launch.
‘Better Call Saul’ Renewed For Third Season At AMC. That's good news,
especially since my favorite shows have a tendency to get cancelled, though this
one probably has more of an audience safety net, spinning off from such a
popular starting point. Still it is a relief, and I thank the powers that be at
AMC for making me so happy.
