Love 3 promotion has concluded, and
Dawn of War II has triumphed over the
competition. This means anyone who submits their email address will receive a
Steam code with free content for the RTS sequel (they say it may take a couple
of weeks for fulfillment). There are also three new games being provided for
free on Steam as part of the process, which are
Gunstar Heroes,
Renegade Ops,
and
Vikings: Battle for Asgard.
HTC Vive blog announces details on the consumer version of the TC Vive Steam
VR headset, saying this will ship in early April with two full VR controllers
for a price of $799. They celebrate the news with
a new trailer, and
outline their plans as follows:

features.
Taking Vive one step further, with refreshed branding and an updated head
strap, the Vive consumer edition builds upon the innovative features that were
introduced into the Vive Pre. The consumer edition of Vive also integrates phone
functionality. Enabling you to stay connected to the real world, without exiting
the virtual world, Vive Phone Services demonstrates the ability to combine both
realities without losing touch of either. By allowing you to receive and respond
to both incoming and missed calls, get text messages and send quick replies and
check upcoming calendar invites directly through the headset, it opens up a
whole new world of possibilities for both consumers and businesses.
The Vive will be priced at $799 and for a limited time the consumer edition will
also ship with two fully-fledged VR experiences to get you started in the
virtual world.

I'm gearing up to make at least one more batch of chili before the conclusion of
winter, but we're in another spring-like lull at the moment that reduces my
inspiration. There is cold in the forecast, so this should work, but the
weather's been so mercurial this year, I better get all my ingredients lined up
in advance to hit what will probably be a small window. Yes, it's as complicated
as planning a space launch... except more dangerous.
