Remedy's Sam Lake
tweets that Quantum Break is gold, so their third-person shooter is
on track for its planned April release. It was
just revealed that a
Windows 10 version of the game is coming, and presumably the announcement covers
that as well as the Xbox One edition. The announcement has a clip of Sam
partying like a rock star with a huge bottle of bubbly. Word simply is: "Gone
GOLD #QuantumBreak @remedygames."
CapCom Unity has another update on Street Fighter V issues in a post
titled "SFV Launch Status Update Vol. 3." They report they have made further
progress on fixing matchmaking and other problems with the launch version
of the fighting game sequel: Hello again World Warriors! We’re back today
with another round of updates for you all and we’re happy to report that we’re
making a lot of great progress on all fronts. Hit the jump to see the current
status of things and what we have on the roadmap as well.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking for Ranked and Casual is stable and is working as intended for most
users. Some additional tweaks were made to the servers overnight, so players
should actually be getting matches at a much faster rate now as well.
We do understand this is not the case for everyone, and the amount of matches a
user gets can vary by region.
If you’re still having issues with Ranked or Casual matchmaking (long waits,
unable to connect), please leave a comment here or tweet to @SFVServer with your
Fighter ID and provide as much detail as possible (location, platform, etc).

A
Kickstarter update for CONSORTIUM: The Tower covers the fact that Interdimensional Games' fundraising efforts for the
RPG sequel will not succeed with hours remaining, and
unveils the plan they hinted at to
rescue the project with what they characterize as a "campaign intermission."
Here's a trailer on the
subject, and here's what they've got planned: The Radical Plan?
So, what is our radical plan to save this campaign? Well - we were hoping to
completely blow the lid open on the entire plan today, but unfortunately we
aren’t allowed to just yet. The official announcement will be coming in a press
release next week, but the gist is simple: The moment that the clock runs out
here, this crowdfunding campaign will officially enter an intermission period.
We have found a way to resume this campaign in just a few weeks’ time outside of
Kickstarter or PayPal. You were the first supporters of The Tower, and as a
special thank you we’ve got a bit of an extra treat.
Pledge now, you are eligible to become a SUPER BACKER...
Each and every one of you who has pledged at the Consortium Initiate level or
higher on Kickstarter will not only be able to keep your pledge and rewards when
the intermission period ends, but will eligible to become a SUPER BACKER with
us.
What’s a Super Backer? It means that in the future all games released by iDGi in
the Consortium Universe will be free for you. Forever. This will apply to all
pledges made up until the ending of our Kickstarter campaign, so if you’re
sitting at the $5.00 pledge, or on the fence about pledging, you’ve only got a
limited time to take advantage of this. There will be some more information next
week on how this will work from a technical standpoint.
We realize it may seem strange to back a campaign that isn’t going to succeed,
but all will be revealed next week. Continue here to read the full story.
Developer Gaming Corps announces The Descendant, an episodic
post-apocalyptic adventure game debuting for Windows on March 24th on Steam.
In the meantime they offer presales of an "Exclusive Season 1 Bundle" that
covers all five episodes and offers some perks.
This teaser trailer
introduces the game, and here's a description: In the not-so-distant
future, climate change have wrecked the planet, and a man-made extinction event
has wiped humankind off the face of the Earth. Only a few thousand ‘descendants
of humanity’ were hand-picked to survive the apocalypse, cryogenically suspended
in underground bunkers known as Arks.
Centuries passed. The world recovered, and all the Arks reopened, except one —
Ark-01.
In The Descendant, from developer Gaming Corps, you play through two timelines -
in the past you’ll play as Mia, a janitor tasked with keeping the chosen humans
housed inside Ark-01 alive, while in the present you’ll play as Donnie, one of
the investigators trying to rescue any survivors trapped within the facility.
Coming to Steam for Windows PC on March 24, the game is a post-apocalyptic
narrative adventure where players solve puzzles, explore the dangerous
underground facility, and discover a far greater conspiracy buried within the
subterranean Ark complex. Continue here to read the full story.

Out of the Park Baseball continues to ramp up the authenticity, as Out of the
Park Productions announces that Out of the Park Baseball 17 will carry
official licensing from the MLB Players Association. This builds upon last
year's addition of MLB licensing, and will allow the use of authentic images for
current players for added immersion. The game is
available for preorder (discounted through March 1st), which
includes a copy of the gold master four days ahead of the official March 22nd
launch date as well as a Steam key when they become available. Here's more on
the realism of this sports simulation for Windows, OS X, and Linux: The
brand new 2016 roster sets will include all Opening Day MLB rosters, via a free
update to be released shortly after Opening Day, as well as the complete minor
league system down to the rookie leagues. Can Jake Arrieta, David Price, and
Johnny Cueto give their teams the pitching boosts they need? Will Albert Pujols,
Chris Davis, and Josh Donaldson once again help power their clubs to victory?
All MLB (and more than 2,000 MiLB) player ratings are based on ZiPS, the
projection system created by well-known baseball writer and SABR member Dan
Szymborski. The remaining minor league players are rated manually by OOTP's
established research team.
OOTP 17 also features several US independent minor leagues and eight
international leagues in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, Cuba, Italy,
Australia, and The Netherlands. All of those leagues feature real rosters, with
countless hours of work invested in researching realistic player biographical
information, statistics, and ratings.

Here's the release trailer
for Bus Simulator 16, though the video is a bit ahead of schedule, as
this game isn't going to roll out of the depot until March 2nd, when it will be
released for Windows and OS X.
Running a little late this morning... I was going to say this was because I was
playing too much last night, which is really weird, because while it was
happening, I had the distinct impression I was playing the exact right amount. I
guess that's what they mean when they say things will seem different in the
morning.
