Mode 7 announces Frozen Synapse 2, calling the upcoming sequel "an open
world tactical game" and saying it will come sometime this year for Windows, OS
X, and Linux. The Frozen Synapse 2
website is online where you can see a screenshot and sign up for future
updates. If this seems vague at the moment, it is, or as they describe it,
"enigmatic." We shouldn't have that long to wait, however, saying: "More details
will be revealed over the next few weeks."
Steam News announces the
release of a Deadpool
Pack for Marvel
Heroes 2016 just in time for the new movie. They say: "As a test subject
in the same Weapon X program that had previously given Wolverine his adamantium
claws and skeleton, Wade Wilson received a healing factor that prevented his
cancer from killing him. Wade soon escaped the program and became a freelance
mercenary using the name Deadpool, working for various criminal organizations.
At times he has teamed up with heroes as well, but these attempts at "being a
good guy" rarely stick for long." Here's word on the contents:

A new trailer shows
off gameplay from Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, highlighting the Chaos fleet in
the upcoming realty-time strategy game using the Warhammer 40K setting. Here's
the description: Over the millennia, many ships and their crew have
betrayed the Imperium to join the Traitor Legions. As such, a big part of the
Chaos Warfleet is composed of ancient ship designs that have long since been
decommissioned from service in the Imperial Navy.
But make no mistake, this does not make them less fearsome. While not as heavily
armoured, Chaos ships are faster than their Imperium counterparts, and out-range
them with extensive use of weaponry such as Lances and attack crafts. These
traits work well in synergy with the Stasis Bomb: teleported from your ship, the
bomb traps enemy ships and their ordnance, while allowing your own lances to
rain destruction on them. Astute Chaos admirals will be able to inflict
considerable damage to the enemy fleet before they may even return fire.
Chaos ships, and their crew, may also receive the favours of the four Gods of
Chaos. Khorne, Slaanesh, Tzeentch and Nurgle will reward your prowess in battle
with Chaos Marks, each giving different bonuses and abilities to your ship,
while warping their hull, dramatically affecting their appearance.

Five Nights at Freddy's World is now available as a free download on
Game Jolt,
offering what's called "a remodeled overworld" for the RPG spin-off of the scare
series (thanks
GameSpot). Sales of the game were
halted last month and refunds
were handed out after problems became evident, with developer Scott Cawthon
apologetically stating that once issues were ironed out this free release would
come. Here's word: This is the first updated version FNaF World,
featuring a remodeled overworld and many other new features. More updates to
come!
Featuring the entire cast from the Five Nights at Freddy's series, this fantasy
RPG will let players control their favorite animatronics in a an epic animated
adventure!
With 40 playable characters, multiple endings, multiple difficulties, and a
great soundtrack from artist Leon Riskin, FNaF World hits the ground running and
doesn't stop. Take control of Freddy and the gang as they set out on a quest in
the world beneath worlds, a world that reflects the actions and deeds of the
"flipside", where things have started becoming distorted and broken. Lead your
team deeper into this digital world to find the source of these glitches and
monsters, and restore it to what it was designed to be- a safe haven.
But be careful, behind the curtain there may be something even more sinister
pulling the strings...

The news of Quantum Break
pre-order and pre-downloads for Xbox One include word on plans for a Windows
10 version of Remedy's game/live action show mashup, saying Xbox One customers
who preorder this will get the Windows 10 version for free. Naturally some are
quite upset with this, since people playing a game on another platform will
diminish their own experience, and
MCV recaps the typically reasonable discourse on Twitter inspired by this
displeasure. Back to the Windows 10 plans for the game,
this page has details on how
that preorder bonus can be redeemed, and word that both systems can share saved
games, but there's no support for cross-platform play. They also offer PC

That’s not to say it’s a terrible idea all around, as there certainly are plenty

LOVE YOU’ with a picture of a bear embroidered on it instead of the Aurora MR,
the latest hard-flying starter ship from Roberts Space Industries’ legendary

Steam News announces the
OS X edition of LEGO Star
Wars - The Complete Saga is now available, offering Mac games a crack at
LEGO-style platforming in the entire Star Wars universe (actually just the first
six movies, buy "86% of the Saga" doesn't have the same ring). This is a
Steamplay title, so as usual, those who already own the Windows edition get this
one for free. Here's word: "Play through all six Star Wars movies in one
videogame! Adding new characters, new levels, new features and for the first

"But to this day, despite constantly increasing popularity and
acceptance, a lot of people (some even with their own national syndicated
radio show) will roll their eyes if you say you like to spend your free time
playing video games. There’s a bizarre logic that if you’re willing to put
in the time to become good at a video game, you won’t be willing to put in
the time to become good at anything else. This complete nonsense regresses
the conversation surrounding these thoughtful, challenging, advanced games
that are consistently pushing barriers.
When discussing the legitimacy of video games as a pastime, for one reason
or another, people always go back to the same question: Is it a sport?
My emphatic answer to that is: Why does it matter?"
Happy birthday Abe Lincoln, as Honest Abe was born on this date in 1809. This is
actually some sort of legal holiday here in New York State, and it also is in
Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, so we all get
to take it easy (or something). Since George Washington's birthday is 10 days
off, this all will get its main celebration on Monday in the more inclusive
President's Day, when we will honor both their legacies with low, low prices.
