GamesRadar
has word from Overkill Software that their
Walking Dead first-person
shooter will be released in the second half of next year, rather than this year
as was previously planned (thanks
PC Gamer). Here's what they report:
According to Starbreeze, which
owns Overkill, this is the good kind of delay: a big investment from Korean game
company Smilegate will allow Overkill to expand the game and launch it in Asian
and western markets simultaneously. The Payday studio will also work on a
"premium" co-op PC game based on Smilegate's Crossfire online shooter franchise.
Meanwhile, Fast & Furious producer Neal Moritz is adapting Crossfire into a
film, so expect to see a lot more of it in the coming years.

Steam now
offers the promised release of the new version of
Sven Co-op, a
standalone co-op
Half-Life game, that's completely free, including a free
co-op Half-Life campaign.
This post has the news, and here's a complete description:
Sven Co-op
is a co-operative game originally based around Valve Software's Half-Life. In
this game players must work together against computer controlled enemies and
solve puzzles as a team.
While Sven Co-op is similar to Half-Life with similar weapons, monsters, and
characters, the difficulty has been increased to suit team play.
Sven Co-op's levels are set as missions and are generally separate from each
other. Many missions span several maps and some are collected together in a
series. The aim of most levels is to reach the end or to achieve an objective --
obtaining a high score is not essential to beat a level, it's just part of the
fun.
We have a lot of snow out there, and it's still coming down. This is our first
real storm of any note so far this winter, and it's certainly making up for lost
time... apparently this developed differently than was projected, so we're
getting more than expected. Luckily, I have a batch of chili to take the edge
off that's nearing completion (this one was cooked even slower than usual, and
has been on the stove for around 18 hours now).
