Archived News:
IO Interactive has cancelled their complicated
rollout plan for their new Hitman game, announcing the assassination
sequel will instead be released in familiar episodic format throughout 2016
starting in April, and will be followed by the release of the complete season on
disc by the end of the year. Beta testing will begin on February 12th on
PlayStation 4 and a week later on PC. A
New Year Update on the
Hitman website explains the new plan, and here's a bit of that: The
big change is that the next location, set in Italy, will now release in April
and then Morocco will release in May. From there we will keep monthly content
updates coming, including the three additional locations we have already
announced; Thailand, the US and Japan until the season concludes in Japan later
in 2016. The weekly live events and additional planned content will give you
plenty to do in the time between location releases.
The new Intro Pack, which includes Prologue and Paris will be priced at $15.
Each subsequent location can be purchased for $10 as an add-on item after you
buy the new Intro Pack. If you buy the Intro Pack and want to get into
everything the Full Experience offers, you can also choose to buy the Upgrade
Pack for $50. This will give you access to all of the content released after
March 11th and guarantees you won’t miss any live or bonus content.
Of course you can still buy the Full Experience which is the complete first
season, so all the content this year as it’s released, up front for $60 as
always promised. Whether you purchase the complete game or buy each episode
individually, we want to remind the community that there will be no micro
transactions in HITMAN.

Dying Light: The Following shows off ways you can pimp your ride in the upcoming
expansion for Techland's zombie expansion. Dirt buggy customization options
include mundane options such as paint jobs and engine upgrades, but also include
more lethal accessories such as flamethrowers, UV headlights, and ramming bars.
Here's the plan: For the upcoming Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced
Edition, Techland reimagines its proven zombie-apocalypse formula with the
addition of drivable dirt buggies. In the gameplay trailer released today, the
developer goes into great detail about the game’s three-fold nature of vehicle
development.
‘Your buggy is going to be crucial to surviving out in the open, so we want to
create an emotional connection between players and their ride’ – explains
producer Tymon Smektała. ‘On top of the lethal weapons and upgrades you’ll be
able to add, there are a lot of cool paintjobs, a number of unmistakable bobble
heads and little charms to put inside, so you can really make the buggy your
own.’ Continue here to read the full story.
Devolver Digital announces plans to publish OmniBus for Windows, OS X,
and Linux this spring, presenting a new backstory for the throwback crowdfunded
title, saying it was intended as a launch title for the Atari Jaguar in 1993.
"OmniBus will revolutionize the way we all think about video games and buses as
it totally changes the public transportation video game simulation paradigm,"
explains Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. "Our team debated not even releasing
OmniBus as it will make the rest of our games look bad in comparison." Here's a
bit from the game's Steam
page: OmniBus is next-to-last gen physics game about the most
powerful bus in the universe that can’t stop or even slow down for reasons
incomprehensible to the simple human mind. OmniBus must complete missions at the
behest of citizens as its speed increases to unsafe speeds and without landing
on its head or sides. OmniBus drivers will choose from the bizarre mission mode,
thrilling trick mode and versus multiplayer mode for up to four players to
achieve goals, set high scores, and receive total enlightenment.

A post from
Battle.net community manager Spyrian outlines the latest changes Blizzard
has implemented to matchmaking in Heroes of the Storm. This is intended
to address complaints that pre-made teams were sometime being matched against
groups of five strangers, leading to imbalances in communication and build
coordination between the teams. As of the most recent changes, this will no
longer happen, as they have "greatly reduced" cases where one team has a party
with three participants to prevent solo players from be matched against four or
five-player parties and duo-queues from be matched against five-player parties.
Here are more details: As part of our ongoing improvements for the Heroes
of the Storm matchmaking system, we’ve just implemented a new change that will
affect what types of parties you may get matched against while playing Quick
Match. Starting today, we’ve greatly reduced the possibility that you’ll be
matched against a party that has three more members than the largest party on
your own team.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let’s expand on what that means. Take a look at a few common party sizes below,
and what you can expect to see in Quick Match after today:
- Solo players: Cannot be matched against
four or five-player parties.
- Duo players*: Cannot be matched against
five-player parties.
- Three-player parties: Can match against any
party size.
It is important to note that the matchmaker will still prioritize match
quality over party size, and may pull in parties outside of these ranges if the
resulting game is the most suitable match available. This means that it’s still
possible to play against a party that’s larger than your own, but this will only
occur in rare cases.
A
Steam Community Group Announcement offers a release date for Five Nights
at Freddy's World, saying the RPG based on the jump-scare game will arrive
on February 19th (thanks
The Escapist). Developer Scott Cawthon's update on his baby also has word
that he now has a real baby, so have a cigar! Here's the news: Hi
everyone! I wanted to provide a few updates on several things!
First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates on the websites. My old
faithful computer (which I used to make FNaF 1-4) finally died the other day. I
had all of my work on FNaF World backed up, of course, but it's still quite a
delay to get a new machine and reconfigure software, etc. I hope to be back up
and running soon!
FNaF World is coming along very well, despite these delays, and I plan on
releasing it February 19th on Steam, and then for Android and iPhone in the
following weeks! I will also release a demo on GameJolt!
In other news, I had a new addition to my family today- a baby boy! I'm typing
this from the hospital now, as a matter of fact! So obviously, that has kept me
a little busy as well! :)
Stay tuned for more updates!

Elite Dangerous launched for PC in December 2014 following a successful

Umix and Cyanide announce the release of Pro Basketball Manager 2016,
allowing you to take on the role of GM and coach of an international basketball
team. This is offered via digital distribution through
the
official website, Steam,
Green Man Gaming, and more with a 10% discount during the first week of

launch
trailer offers a look, and here's the news: The ultra-realistic and
comprehensive management game, developed by Umix and Cyanide, is released today
on Steam, as well as on several other digital platforms.
Following in the footsteps of Cyanide's other sport management sims, Pro
Basketball Manager 2016 allows the player to take control of all aspects of the
life of a real basketball coach.
After browsing through the wide choice of teams from the smallest national side
to the world's leading clubs, the player will select the side he wishes to lead
in one of the more than 70 competitions that have been faithfully transcribed.
Dozens of features will offer each player a unique and personal experience
during which all decisions will have an impact on finances, fan satisfaction,
investor confidence or player fatigue.

opposition.
Moreover, customization of the game interface and swapping of databases with
other players will allow everyone to create a unique experience adapted to
his/her own style of play.

My talk yesterday of winter boots seems to have inspired old man winter, as we
have our first real snow of the season this morning. Real is relative, as the
accumulation isn't much more than an inch, but this has been such a warm, dry
winter it seems like a blizzard. That said, I'm not sure that I'll even have to
shovel this, I think it will probably melt off on its own before I get around to
it.
