A
post on reddit from Blizzard community manager trikslyr says some balance
changes are coming soon to Heroes of the Storm to reduce some of the
heavier stuns in the currently CC-heavy meta for the MOBA (thanks
Ten Ton Hammer). Here's word: There are a couple of heroes getting
small balance updates in the next couple of weeks that could help with some of
the heavier stuns in the meta. While these updates won't come out with Greymane,
they'll be going live shortly after.
The amount of stuns available in Heroes of the Storm is a subject the balance
team has been discussing lately. Obviously crowd control can be very powerful,
but the amount of stuns in a game can vary depending on the heroes selected per
a match. This is a subject we'll be keeping an eye on and we're not opposed to
making adjustments if they are needed. Please feel free to let us know your
thoughts.

A new trailer from
Moving Hazard that debuted at CES is now online, showing off this upcoming
first-person shooter where the zombies serve as weapons. The description has a
rundown on how this works: In the game, the zombie war is already lost
and what remains of humanity has retreated to fortified military bases, leaving
everything in between to the shambling corpses. In order to survive, the
player’s squad must venture into the wasteland and face off against other
survivors for control of important resources and strategic command points.
While battling powerfully equipped human opponents, the player will also need to
survive the hunger of the zombie masses. Even more important, the player will
use technology specifically evolved in this post-apocalyptic hellscape to
control the mindless shamblers by attracting, repelling, sedating or angering
the horde. Only by working as a strategic military team while simultaneously
harnessing the power of the undead, can a battle be won. Continue here to read the full story.
A
post on reddit covers an email exchange with Marc Laidlaw that says the
writer is no longer affiliated with Valve, where he wrote the stories for both
Half-Life and Half-Life 2, as well as the episodic Half-Life 2 expansion, which
remains only 67% completed. There are a couple of follow-ups attempting to prove
this exchange is genuine, and
GameSpot reports this news is "confirmed," but we're not seeing anything as
concrete as that. Presuming this is true, it could be taken as another
indication that Valve has no plans to return to the first-person shooter series,
though on the other hand, Marc certainly had time to write stories for more than
one game in the series in the over eight years since the release of Half-Life 2:
Episode Two. Update:
Gamasutra reports they have confirmed this news directly.

Happy birthday Frans! This provides an opportunity to thank our good friend once
again for his hard work over all the years in keeping this place running
properly (and running at all, for that matter).
Today is also the birthday of a couple of other cult heroes, as David Bowie was
born on this day in 1947, making the (still) thin white duke 69 years old.
Thanks to nin for pointing out that Bowie fans are the ones who get a present
out of this deal, in the form of
a new album. Today is also
the official inception date for Roy Batty from Blade Runner. Happy birthday
Roy, and remember, the light that burns twice as bright burns half as long!
