Here's a new trailer
from Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition, introducing the 250 Legendary
Levels that are one of the package's enhancements. "We listen closely to our
community and hear many voices of people who did every single thing in Dying
Light wanting more. Legendary Levels are one of the ways how we’re making the
post-game content more meaty," explains Maciej Binkowski, lead game designer.
"We’re adding 250 additional levels, so you can keep on developing your
character while unlocking new weapons, outfits, emblems, and skills. It means
massive replayability." Continue here to read the full story.
A new trailer from
The Deadly Tower of Monsters shows us some of the "monster movie magic" in
ACE Team's action/adventure game that's due for release next month. Here's word
from the description: When Dick Starspeed crash-lands his rocket on the
planet of Gravoria, he’ll have to fight through dinosaurs, nukular ants, and
other skilled, costumed stuntmen to make it up the deadly tower of monsters.
Fire up your ray guns, crystal swords, and laser whips, and get ready for
thrills and chills! Be amazed by the state-of-the-art effects, including
stop-motion, rotoscope, image compositing, and even some elaborate costumes
covered in real fur! With three incredible movie stars playing out decidedly
B-level sci-fi exploits, Dick Starspeed, Scarlet Nova, and Robot will have you
ready to jump off the side of the tower—right into adventure! Gather your
courage and prepare to face off against the more than half-a-hundred monsters
that will try and stop your ascension up THE DEADLY TOWER OF
MONSTERS! Continue here to read the full story.
VG247 points the way to several videos that have appeared online from the
alpha version of The Division, Ubisoft's upcoming open-world shooter. These show
off environments and customization options, but they do represent leaks, as
those given access to the alpha signed NDAs and were instructed not to share
like this, so it's likely these will be removed before too long.
Obsidian Entertainment now offers
The Road to Eternity
for all, a documentary going behind-the-scenes with Pillars of Eternity,
their crowdfunded RPG. This will cost $0.99 to view, and here's an outline of
what you get for your buck: In “The Road to Eternity,” Obsidian's
talented team of developers Josh Sawyer, Adam Brennecke and CEO Feargus Urquhart
who have contributed to such notable franchises as Fallout, Star Wars, and
Dungeons & Dragons pull back the curtain on the Pillars of Eternity development
story, and share unguarded thoughts and testimonials about the bleak lows and
the dizzying highs of their journey. The documentary offers a great deal of
inside information for fans, as well as a rare look into what crowdfunding can
mean to an independent game developer.
Video development diary 19
from Hellblade offers a look at the atmospheric VFX in Ninja Theory's

GfK Chart-Track offers new U.K. game sales charts for last week. This close to
the holidays things are pretty stable, as the top 10 on the
PC sales chart is just reshuffled, with Football Manager 2016 retaining the
top spot. The
all platforms top 40 also remains fairly unchanged, and Call of Duty: Black
Ops III holds on at number one there. Here's the
summary of the action:
‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ becomes the 6th Call of Duty game to claim
the coveted Christmas No1 as the Top 5 are all non-movers this week.
There were three real contenders this year with newcomer ‘Star Wars Battlefront’
looking to dethrone perennial Christmas chart toppers FIFA and Call of Duty.
Sales of Activision Blizzard’s popular shooter jumped by the highest margin out
of the three, up 33% compared to Star Wars’ 20% increase and FIFA’s 24% jump in
sales. However, ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ does take the honour of EA’s biggest
selling title this week, holding on to No2 ahead of ‘FIFA 16’ at No3. A price
promotion on ‘Fallout 4’ was not enough for it to crash the party. Despite sales
climbing a healthy 44%, it remains at No4. ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ (+11%) has a
solid performance at No5 meaning that ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (+20%) has
to settle for a move of one place up to No6 – the first time an Ubisoft title
has charted outside the Top 5 in a Christmas Chart week since 2008.
‘Just Cause 3’ (+0%) drops one place to No7, while ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (+21%)
and ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege’ (-2%) are both non-movers at No’s 8 and 9
respectively. A jump of one place is enough to ensure Sony’s ‘Uncharted: The
Nathan Drake Collection’ (+10%) re-enters the Top 10 at No10.
My second replacement coffee cone arrived yesterday, which was my first
experience with Amazon Prime free delivery on Sunday, which is something that
will take some getting used to. I was a little pissed at the lack of padding on
the first cone that was delivered, as it was completely destroyed, but the
second one was completely intact, even though it was even less padded than the
first. But now that I see it, I understand better why they didn't bother to
swaddle this in packing material, as this thing seems about twice as thick and
heavy as the one it replaced. I am more surprised that the first one they
delivered broke when it fell, in fact I'm shocked it didn't chip the sidewalk.
I'm pretty sure this piece of porcelain could stop a bullet.
