IGN Video now offers a
new video from
Mafia 3 featuring over 12 minutes of footage from the
upcoming open-world crime sequel narrated by Haden Blackman, creative director
on the project (thanks
PC Gamer).
The footage is labeled "pre-alpha," and it shows off gameplay, and the game's
1960s New Orleans setting.

A
Steam Community Group Announcement from Cyanide Studio and Focus Home
Interactive tells
Blood
Bowl 2 owners that they are getting a free DLC pack with four additional
races as a reward for their loyalty (thanks
PC Gamer). There's still time to get in on this, as the offer is being
extended to all who own the game before the release of the upcoming race DLC for
the fantasy-themed sports game. Also,
this post has details on a new version 2.0.9.1 update that's now live. Here
are the details on the free DLC offer (and for the record, it's a "field" or a
"gridiron" not a "pitch"):
It has been a very busy 3 months since the
release of Blood Bowl 2, and we’ve dedicated them to ironing out the game. Our
third big client update is here, with loads of improvements and many awaited
features.
In addition to this major update, we'd like to give you more info about what's
planned for Blood Bowl 2 in the coming months:
We have started in October the production of 4 additional races (Norse, Undead,
Nurgle and Necromantic). As we want to thank you all for your support since the
very beginning helping us make Blood Bowl 2 a great success, we decided that if
you own Blood Bowl 2 on PC, you’ll get these races for free!
As long as you own Blood Bowl 2 before the launch of a race DLC, you’ll get that
DLC and subsequent DLC for free, from the list of four planned DLCs.
The first new race to come (the Norse) should be available at the end of
February. The three races remaining will release one after the other on a
regular basis.
Thank you once again for your constant feedback and support on Blood Bowl 2,
See you on the pitch!
A
Steam Community Group Announcement announces the early access launch of
Full Spectrum Combat, a premium pack for
Robocraft, their
free-to-play ("free-to-win") MMOG that involves constructing battle vehicles and
sending them into combat (thanks Jatinsai). They are offering free access to
this through the end of the year.
This post
has all the details on the new update, including robot painting and the
unlocking of all game modes, and
this video offers a
look.

A
post on Battle.net
outlines plans to bring an improved replay and observer interface to
Heroes of
the Storm, saying this will be closer to what's been previously seen in the
BlizzCon World Championships for the MOBA. They say this will be replacing the
default interface "very soon," but for those who cannot wait, they offer the
chance to download and check it out now, though they say this probably won't be
the final iteration before it is officially launched. Here's word:
Greetings,
Heroes. We’ve been working closely with community member
Ahli to create a new interface for
watching replays and observing matches in the client. Some of you may recognize
a lot of these new features from an earlier version we used at the BlizzCon
World Championships. While this probably won’t be our final iteration, we wanted
to get this version into your hands now as this new interface will be replacing
the default replay and observer UI very soon.
With new art, talent icons included in the top bar, and collapsible detailed
stats and talent panels, we think this interface will introduce an exciting new
level of easily-digestible information to players looking to analyze games as a
spectator or through watching replays. You can also look forward to even more
features coming with the interfaces official release and beyond, including
current Map Mechanic counters for each team on maps like Blackheart’s Bay and
Tomb of the Spider Queen.
A forum comment earlier this week joked that the year wouldn't be complete
without some sort of kitchen appliance disaster (preferably
coffeemaker-related). Well, in spite of how my coffee making setup is pretty
foolproof these days, I managed to deliver nonetheless. It's not much of a
story... Years ago I upgraded to a ceramic filter holder over a plain plastic
Melitta dealie, and while this worked great, the bottom of it was deliberately
not flat, so it would wobble when set on the coffee pot. So yeah, I accidentally
nudged it, and kaboom... coffee grounds and porcelain shards everywhere. And
while I'm sure I save the plastic cone for such emergencies, I can't find where
I hid it, so it's not serving in the meantime. And even worse, my first
replacement seemed as if it had been kicked all the way here, as it arrived in
more pieces than the one I am replacing. So there, even without a coffeemaker, I
managed to break my coffeemaker.
