Lucasfilm: Cancelled Star Wars 1313 is "Gold"

There's an interview on Slashfilm talking with Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy during a press junket for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Along the way Star Wars 1313 came up, and while she does not say they are reviving the cancelled game, she does call it and the cancelled Star Wars TV series "gold," and says they would like to further explore them. "So our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away," she explains. "It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to." Star Wars 1313 was a planned gritty action game that was cancelled in 2013 when LucasArts closed, and last we heard about it was a report almost a year ago that the game's trademark had lapsed. Shooting Stars Announced

Bloodirony and Daedalic Entertainment announce Shooting Stars, a roguelike featuring a cat on a hoverboard with frikkin' laser beams coming out of its eyes. This is already out for mobiles, but word is it is being "substantially reworked for the upcoming PC release." This is due for release on January 4th for Windows, OS X, and Linux, and at the risk of driving you mad with anticipation, here are the details:

Tscherno the hipster, armed with a laser-eyed cat and a hoverboard, is on a mission to save humanity from aliens. These aliens disguise themselves as celebrities and are out for world domination. They pose as Hollywood actors, popstars, Youtube personalities or meme characters and subtly influence mankind.

Tscherno and his cat plan to put an end to this: The fierce feline shoots lasers from her eyes to stop enemies and with the help of power-ups she can even use stronger weapons -- like the MEGA RAINBOW LAZER, a multi-colored multi-mortal multibeam!

Features

  • A cat! With laser eyes! Seriously! Laser eyes!
  • More than 20 celebrity bosses like Justin Belieber, PewDerPie or Kanye East
  • Multiple difficulty levels
  • More than 50 fantastic Super-Attacks and Super-Foods!
  • Extra game mode: In "Card Hunt" all players collect funny cards
  • And another extra game mode: In "Daily Runs" players compete for first place in the leaderboards of single levels

Ravaged Pulled; 2 Dawn Closed

The Steam store listing for Ravaged: Zombie Apocalypse now just redirects back to the front page, as the zombie shooter has apparently been pulled from sale. A forum post from a couple of weeks ago has a comment from a community moderator suggesting that developer 2 Dawn is struggling with legal issues, but One Angry Gamer followed up with 2 Dawn's press representative Nick Ritter, who did not have an official statement to share, saying there has been no official announcement about this. He does confirm the game is no longer available, however, saying: "Yes we removed the game from the store. The owners also dissolved the company. I am not 100% positive if there were 'legal' troubles so I am not comfortable commenting on that."
