UbiBlog has
details on open beta testing of Rainbow Six Siege, saying this begins a
week from today on November 25th, saying they will offer preloads a couple of
days in advance.
They also offer a new
"Siege The Day" TV Spot featuring Idris Elba. Here's the outline of plans to
test the tactical shooter: Rainbow Six Siege is almost here, but before
it launches, the developers want to give everyone one more chance to try it out.
That’s why they will be running an Open Beta on all platforms from November 25
through November 29. This is your opportunity to hop in, play with the
operators, check out a few of the maps and modes on offer, and help the
developers run one last stress test before the game officially launches on
December 1 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Because of the Open Beta, all players will be able to pre-load the game on
November 23, and those who participated in the Closed Beta in September will be
able to jump into the Open Beta a day early (on November 24). During the Open
Beta, you’ll have access to 14 operators (out of the 20 that will be available
at launch), including 3 of the Russian Spetsnaz operators you may have seen
during the Closed Beta – Glaz, Tachanka and Kapkan.
The Secure Area and Bomb PvP modes will be open during the beta, as well as the
Disarm Bomb PvE Terrorist Hunt mode. Those of you who took part in the Closed
Beta might already be familiar with two of the Open Beta’s available maps –
Hereford and House – but this will be your first opportunity to check out the
Kanal map seen in the
Gamescom trailer. All three maps will be playable in both PvE and PvP, in
either the day or night setting. Continue here to read the full story.

Psyonix reveals plans to release new Chaos Run DLC next month for Rocket League,
bringing some Mad Max-style off-roading to the automotive sports game, and
saying this will be accompanied by a new Wasteland arena that will be free for
all owners of the game, even if they don't get the new DLC. They've
rolled out a new trailer with a
look at all this in action, and here's word: Thematically inspired by
films and literature set in grim, post-apocalyptic futures, Chaos Run brings
those happy-go-lucky scenarios to Rocket League's universe with two brand new
Battle-Cars (Ripper and Grog), 12 new Decals (six for each new vehicle), and
several new Paint Types, Wheels, Rocket Trails, Toppers, and Antennas.
"Chaos Run" will be available this December on both the PlayStation™Network and
Steam PC for $3.99 USD
or its regional equivalent.
But that's not all. In addition to its paid downloadable content, Psyonix will
also release a FREE new arena, dubbed "Wasteland." Based on a popular map of the
same name found in the original Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars,
Wasteland is the first "non-standard" Rocket League stadium to hit the game -
boasting a completely-sloped perimeter, entirely different Boost placements, and
a much more prominent, physically-wider pitch. Continue here to read the full story.
Whitebox Interactive announces early access to Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus
Arena will begin on December 9th, offering the first chance to check out
this Warhammer 40K-themed MOBA/shooter. In the meantime you can check out the
details on the Dark Nexus Arena
website, and in this portion of the announcement: A skill shot-based
control scheme is at the core of Dark Nexus Arena, making the game feel like a
shooter, while still providing the depth and character progression of a MOBA.
With the ability to dash out of harm's way and take cover behind walls and other
characters, players will have an unprecedented level of control over their
characters in Dark Nexus Arena.
Dark Nexus Arena, in closed beta since May, implements press and fan feedback.
As a result, when the game launches into early access, Dark Nexus Arena will
even further differentiate itself from the standard MOBA formula by replacing
the traditional three lane design, in favor of a map that removes lanes and
towers entirely.
With next year a presidential election year in the U.S., Stardock has
released The Political Machine 2016
on Steam as an Early
Access title, and the Political Machine
website offers sales of discounted two-packs and upgrades from previous
versions. This launch trailer
offers a look, this blog post
has all the details, and here's a description: "Dodge mud and sling some of your
own as you fight against other candidates for the headache of becoming the
President of the United States. Play as more than 15 candidates including Bernie
Sanders, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and more!" Continue here to read the full story.
Battlestate Games announces Escape from Tarkov, a "hardcore online game set
in a Russian setting" coming to Windows and OS X next year. The
game's official website is
online, offering signups for closed beta testing, and
this lengthy cinematic
trailer showing lots of gunplay in a war-ravaged urban environment. The
announcement also refers to this as an "MMO," and describes a conflict in a cut
off region called Norvinsk: With every new day the situation in Norvinsk
oblast becomes stranger and more complicated. Panic reigns as the city is
plunged into armed conflict: citizens flee while those who stay begin to
scavenge whatever they can. Taking the new realities as a matter of course and
huddling up into well-armed gangs, scavs start their own battle for territories.
Today, Tarkov is divided by unseen borders set by bandit groups.
Up-for-anything, they won't stop short at killing innocents or waging a war
against two private military companies.
Players will enter the battlefield as surviving ex-mercenaries. After choosing
one's side, USEC or BEAR, the protagonist starts off in the middle of the city.
Tarkov is blocked by UN forces and Russian military, supply lines are cut,
communications are lost – in these realities everyone decides by himself or
herself, how to survive and get out of city. Continue here to read the full story.
The
Deus Ex Universe website announces August 23, 2016 is now when to expect
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the next installment in the RPG series. The RPG
sequel was previously expected
on February 23rd, so this represents a delay of precisely six months. Here's
the explanation: As you may have already seen by reading and watching the
many previews for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, our aim is for it to be a worthy
successor to Human Revolution, and to improve upon that game in every way
possible. I know that expectations are extremely high, and we not only want to
meet those expectations, but to exceed them.
We're confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing
through the game in full we can see it will require more time in post-production
for tuning, iterations, and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to
achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to August 23rd, 2016.
We are sorry to disappoint you with this news, and also thank you for all your
support and comments. This game is a huge part of our lives, and we don't want
to compromised on its quality.
So please be patient with us a little longer, and thanks as always for your
passion and support — through thick and thin. It's a huge responsibility to work
on Deus Ex Mankind Divided — we know, but also a huge privilege. We're
determined to deliver the best game we can.

Interactive Design announces internal testing is complete on the level
editor for Hotline Miami 2, and that the beta of the level editor will be
released on Steam on December 10th (thanks
GameSpot). They say this will be for Windows only, but Linux and OS X
support will eventually be added. They list 11 different important points about
this, and offer the following overview: The testing period for the
Hotline Miami 2 level editor with Testronic is over and we are very happy with
the results! There were tons of bugs found and fixed so the core of the editor
feels very stable now. While the cut-scene creator and campaign editor still
have some nasty bugs, Jonatan and Abstraction are going to take care of them
soon and get those features all smoothed out as well.
So without any further delay we're excited to announce:
THE BETA VERSION OF THE EDITOR WILL BE UP ON STEAM ON THE 10TH OF DECEMBER!
We've added some extra time just to make sure that the date won't be pushed
anymore. Thursday the 10th of December is the day. More details soon!
Back to Dinosaur Island is now available
on Steam for free
as Crytek has released this virtual reality tech demo they showed off at this
year's Game Developers Conference. This is a full VR game and requires the
Oculus Rift DK 2 to play, but
this video offers a
look at gameplay without that weird binoculars-style double screen. This doesn't actually involve gameplay
(or Chris Pratt). Here's word: "In Back to Dinosaur
Island, players become the eyes and ears of a baby dinosaur in a nest.
Surrounded by dinosaur eggs, players are immersed in a beautifully rendered 3D
jungle environment filled with lush vegetation and buzzing with life. Players
interact with elements around them, including the eggs, a dragon fly and
finally, will come face-to-face with an enormous dinosaur, experiencing a sense
of scale and awe in a way that can only be achieved with virtual reality."

This trailer shows
off Just Cause 3 gameplay in spiffy 4K resolution in advance of next month's
release of the action sequel (thanks
DSOGaming). Word is: "Avalanche Studios have been busy squeezing every last
drop of power out of their proprietary engine for the upcoming release of JUST
CAUSE 3 on December 1st. The game can be seen firing on all cylinders, with all
settings turned to overkill in this video running at a 4K resolution!" Continue here to read the full story.
