There's a statement on
GameSpot responding to postings on the
GameDealsMeta subreddit, as online game store Green Man Gaming denies
accusations that some of the keys they sell are shady "grey market" keys, though
their description of these being acquired "responsibly through authorised third
parties" helps understand where these concerns originate. They respond to
accusations of shadiness thusly: "We find the research carried out by the Reddit
Game Deal mods has been subjective or inaccurate. We know they share the same
aims as we do; to offer customers great value on great games, so it brings us no
pleasure to publicly state - they are wrong." Here's more from Paul Sulyok CEO
Green Man Gaming: We reiterate that we source our keys from a range of
over 400 publishers, developers, and distributors to meet customer’s demands on
a title by title basis. Let’s be clear here; there is a difference between being
an authorised retailer for some titles, and being a retailer selling keys that
have been sourced responsibly through authorised third parties with revenue
going back to the publisher. If a key unlocks, it is an authentic key. This
isn’t a perfect science as human error can affect the supply chain. Where
possible, we work directly with publishers and distributors to make sure
customers have the very best experience with us.
Whenever things outside of our control have happened, we have instantly and
fairly tried to make it right. We accept that we don’t always get it right, and
we are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We’d like to take this opportunity to
thank our customers, the Reddit Game Deal community, and everyone who has
supported us.

Developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Paradox Interactive announce a
late January release window for The White March – Part 2, the second
expansion for Pillars of Eternity, their crowdfunded role-playing game. Here's
the plan: Obsidian Entertainment and Paradox Interactive announced today
that The White March – Part 2, the second expansion to Pillars of Eternity, will
be released late January 2016, bringing players back to the snowy borderlands of
The Eastern Reach.
The White March – Part 2 adds new content to the Pillars of Eternity universe,
including new quests, new abilities, and a new companion: Meneha, the Barbarian.
The expansion also offers players a higher level cap, and the new “Story Time”
mode, letting players experience the incredible narrative of Pillars of Eternity
at a faster pace. Directed by Josh Sawyer, Game Director of Fallout: New Vegas
and Pillars of Eternity, The White March - Part 2 features an expertly crafted
story from Eric Fenstermaker, lead writer of Pillars of Eternity and the
co-writer of South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Carrie Patel, author of the
Recoletta series and writer on the original Pillars of Eternity.
Pillars of Eternity, created by role-playing game (RPG) veterans also known for
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and South Park: The
Stick of Truth, is a RPG inspired by classic titles such as Baldur’s Gate,
Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment. Created thanks to over 75,000
crowdfunding backers, Pillars of Eternity has sold over 600,000 units, was
released to critical acclaim in March 2015, and is #6 on Metacritic’s 15 Best PC
Games of 2015. The White March - Part 2 completes the story began in the first
expansion, The White March – Part 1, bringing the first epic chapter in the
Pillars of Eternity universe to a close.

Fallout 4 lands in the top spot on the
GfK Chart-Track's PC top 30 chart for the week ending November 14th. The top
three titles on the list are new, as Football Manager 2016 debuts at
number two and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void lands at number three. On
the
all platforms chart Fallout 4 also debuts at number one, Rise of the Tomb
Raider rises to number four, and Football Manager 2016 kick off its chart
stay at number seven. This
write-up summarizes how S.P.E.C.I.A.L. the Fallout 4 launch was:
‘Fallout 4’ delivers the best ever launch week for the series while
becoming the third biggest launch of 2015 so far.
Bethesda’s second No1 of the year (The Elder Scrolls Online was the other) is
behind only the familiar faces of ‘Fifa 16’ and ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’
for debut week unit sales. It’s a fantastic return for the series bettering the
debut sales of previous week one best seller ‘Fallout: New Vegas’ by 213%. ‘Call
of Duty: Black Ops III’ (-57%) makes way for the newly crowned champion dropping
to No2. ‘Fifa 16’ (+10%) also drops down a place despite a boost fuelled in part
by high sales of the Xbox One Fifa 16 hardware bundle. Lara Croft returns as
‘Rise of the Tomb Raider’ debuts at No4 for Xbox One and Xbox 360. With
Microsoft securing a timed exclusive for the title sales lean heavily toward
Xbox One with 85% over Xbox 360’s 15% share.
Telltale Games’ ‘Minecraft Story Mode’ (+6%) climbs a place to No5 and delivers
impressive week on week growth over its debut launch figure in its third week.
EA’s ‘Need for Speed’ (-62%) drops three places to No6 in its second week.
Sega’s ‘Football Manager 2016’ for PC lands at No7 just ahead of a resurgent
‘Lego Dimensions’ (+49%), which climbs a place to No8 thanks to retailer
promotions. Former chart toppers ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (-39%) and ‘Halo
5: Guardians’ (-50%) are down to No9 and No10 in their fourth and third weeks on
the All Formats Chart. Elsewhere in the Top 40 another PC title makes its mark
with Blizzard’s ‘StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’ landing at No23.
It's a sign of how gradually autumn has been rolling in around here that I'm
only just now starting to think about making the first batch of chili of the
season. The forecast suggests that it's not really going to be that chilly
(hah!) this week either, but there are heavy showers expected by the end of the
week, and those will go a long way towards creating the proper chili atmosphere.
Let the games begin!
