Jade Empire Special Edition is now available for free
on Origin Games as the newest entry in their "on the house" program (thanks
GameInformer). Here's word on the martial arts action/adventure, which was
first released in 2005:
When danger threatens, you travel across the
world, from the harsh mountains of the Land of Howling Spirits to the lush
gardens of the Imperial City.
In your adventures you face powerful human and supernatural foes, learn exotic
and magical martial arts, and discover the darkest secrets of the world.
Only by mastering the greatest fighting styles and defeating the most powerful
enemies will you earn your place as a master of martial arts in the world of
Jade Empire.
Game Informer's lengthy
interview with Feargus Urquhart discusses what's going on at Obsidian
Entertainment. A good portion of the conversation covers a project that was
going to be an Xbox One launch title before it was ultimately cancelled. They go
into what a low point this represented for the company, as it resulted in the
layoff of a number of employees. At the very end of the conversation it is
revealed that this project has received new life, and has been picked up by a
publisher in "sort of in a different form." He doesn't have too much to say
about this for now, but Feargus says an announcement is coming within the next
few months. You can here about it
at this point in the video.

Got back from walking the Gunnar-man this morning thinking I had stepped in some
dog poo along the way. Instead of that, I found this yellow berry residue on my
shoes that I'm told was ginkgo biloba droppings. Ginkgo biloba? More like stinko
biloba! We had a neighbor cut down one of those trees a few years ago because
they hated the smell, and now I understand the point, because the odor from this
was positively nauseous.
