Paradox Interactive announces that the OS X and Linux/SteamOS editions of
Magicka 2 are now out of beta. This isn't mentioned yet
on Steam, but the game
page now sports logo for the OSes, and word is cross platform play is supported
between Windows, Linux, and OS X. They also note the game supports Steam
Hardware in their typically punny fashion: "In addition, Magicka 2 will run on
the newly available Steam Box with full Steam controller support, enabling
players to use a Steam Box in Steam OS to cast Steam on their friends (who may
become steamed)."
NeoGAF has
images purportedly from a canceled Jurassic World game said to have been
in the works at Cryptic Seattle before the studio was closed. They have .gifs
showing character and dinosaur running animations, and say this would have been
a third-person Unreal Engine game where the player would have controlled Chris
Pratt's character from the movie. Thanks
DSOGaming.
The
League of Legends website has a new champion reveal for Illaoi, the
Kraken Priestess. They don't say when she will be added to Riot's MOBA, but they
offer screenshots and details on her kit and playstyle. Here's an overview: Most
champions arm themselves with swords or guns or magic or whatever, but Illaoi’s
bringing a freakin’ god to the Rift. One of the new breed of juggernauts, she’s
a slow but impactful solo laner in any game, with tentacles that offer huge zone
control once they worm their way into a game. And while she lacks traditional
gap closers to start fights, she can pull the spirits from distant squishies and
destroy them, rendering yet another vessel for Illaoi’s god, Nagakabouros.

The Grand Theft Auto-V Alternative Multiplayer
Modification website announces the closure of this alternate way to play
Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer online without GTA Online, after Take-Two
Interactive contacted them about it infringing on their rights. They say they
are "heartbroken" over this, but that they have repeatedly stated that they have
no desire to damage the company or its game. Similarly,
a FiveM reddit post from the author of another upcoming Online GTA5
describes being contacted by Take-Two about shutting down the project as well.
This encounter doesn't sound a cordial as the previous one, as it apparently
involved a visit from a couple of private detectives. Thanks
All Games Beta.
Fallout 4 and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void coming out on the same day is
pretty overwhelming (and Star Wars Battlefront rolls out within a week!). I'm
guessing more than one of you called in sick with a bad case of Fallout Flu
today?

Influential songwriter, producer Allen Toussaint has died.
