Ankama now offers Krosmaster Arena
on Steam, a free-to-play
multiplayer strategy game for Windows, OS X, and Linux that uses the same
setting as their previous games, DOFUS and WAKFU. You can check out what this
looks like in
this
trailer, and here's word: Six beautifully designed environments and
four gameplay modes will give players plenty of action to choose from, whether
it’s the action-packed solo adventure, one-on-one match mode for challenging
friends, or tournament mode to hone your skills and rise through the rankings.
The fourth mode – dungeon – is coming soon.
Appearances can be deceiving. The diminutive heroes of Krosmaster Arena may look
cute, but they pack one heck of a punch. The game features over 130 hero
figurines to collect, each one loaded with its own devastating 3D attack to send
opponents reeling. The heroes can be combined in countless ways to form elite
teams and dominate the board. Players can even pick up physical figurines at
selected retailers, enter the code, and add the hero to their virtual
in-gameranks. Continue here to read the full story.
A
Steam Community Group Announcement from Treyarch says that the performance
issue they identified upon last
week's release of Call of Duty: Black Ops III is now cleared up. Word
is: "We have made a patch to address performance issues people have been
experiencing on some CPUs including Intel i5 processors. Please keep the
feedback coming, we are hard at work getting your issues resolved."
There's a
Graphics, Performance & Tweaking Guide on the GeForce website for Fallout
4 with tips on getting the best visuals and performance in advance of
tomorrow's launch of the Windows edition of the post-apocalyptic RPG sequel. The
guide is extensive and quite detailed, and while there is an understandable
focus on NVIDIA hardware, there is information there that can be useful for
anyone.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III debuts at number one on the
GFK Chart-Track PC top 30 chart for the week ending November 7th, while ANNO
2205 enters the chart at number five. The new Call of Duty also tops the
all platforms chart, where the new Need for Speed pulls in at number three.
Here's their summary of
all the action: 2015 so far reveals there have never been more games
released on a Tuesday (25 and counting, previous record was 2012 with 17 for the
whole year), but Activision's ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ forsakes Tuesday for
Friday for the first time since 2009 / 6 iterations ago.
So 'Black Ops III' launched Friday 6th November and UK gamers had to divide
their disposable income between fireworks, the Treyarch-developed first person
shooter and the continued wallet-drain of ‘Spectre’ at the cinema. However,
‘Black Ops III’ explodes on to the scene at No1 and in terms of revenue
generated in week 1 (regardless of release day) ‘Black Ops III’ ranks at No14
amongst all titles. Compared to other Call of Duty titles this is the 7th in
terms of week 1 takings, though of course all of those above it benefited from 5
days of sell-through in week 1 (UK charts run Sun-Sat).
The Gen 8 (PS4/Xbox One) transition is overwhelming with 91% of sales units
coming from these 2 formats (compared to 68% for last year’s ‘Call of Duty:
Advanced Warfare’). EA’s ‘FIFA 16’ climbs 1 place to No2 (-7%) and EA have the
only other new entry at No3 as ‘Need For Speed’ arrives for PS4/Xbox One.
Microsoft’s ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ drops from No1 to No4 (- 78%) and Ubisoft’s
‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ drops 3 places to No5 (-55%). There are numerous
re-entries due to various retailer promotions, most notable of which is
Nintendo’s ‘Mario Kart 7’ back in at No14 (+898%).

I made my comments about the mild weather just in time, as there was our first
real frost of the season overnight. The forecast still calls for things to be
milder than expected for the near future, but things are changing. Since we got
so little rain over the summer, it's time to start rooting for it to snow, as
this area of the northeast is now considered to be in a "moderate drought," and
some snow will go a long way towards keeping this from becoming a problem. I'll
try to keep the big picture in mind when shoveling.
R.I.P.:
Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen dies at 68. Thanks
