Another New Steam User Record

The Steam Game and Player Statistics page reflects a new record for concurrent Steam users for a third consecutive week (thanks GameSpot). Re-setting the record will obviously become less newsworthy if it continues to happen so frequently, and some have already argued that it has already reached that point, but it seems worth noting if for nothing more than the huge leaps this high-water mark keeps taking. Two weeks ago the new record was set at 10,761,566; last week it reached 11,625,415; and as of now it is 12,921,574, so the record has jumped by more than two million in just a couple of weeks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Trailer

A new "Seize Glory" trailer is a live-action trailer from Call of Duty: Black Ops III as Activision turns up the heat in promoting the upcoming release of the shooter sequel. Here's word on the trailer, release plans, and beastmode: "The official Call of Duty: Black Ops III live action trailer, directed by Wayne McClammy and featuring Michael B. Jordan, Cara Delevingne, and Marshawn Lynch, follows Kevin as he wall-runs, thrust jumps, and power slides through enemies and zombies on his way to glory. No matter who you are, there's a solider in all of us. Call of Duty: Black Ops III arrives globally on November 6th, 2015." Continue here to read the full story.

Sunday Crowdfunding Roundup

  • Dorke and Ymp -- Steam Greenlight. "Dorke and Ymp is an unreleased Super Nintendo game developed back in the early 1990's by a Swedish company called Norse. The game was developed with unlicensed tools made by the game programmers. Unfortunately the game failed to acquire a publisher and was never released." Thanks One Angry Gamer.

Out of the Blue

The Mets game aside, we had a lovely Halloween in the BlueTower, the kids were all nice, they all enjoyed their candy, and they got their usual kick out of the dressed up doggie. As promised, here are a few photos of the Gunnar-man in costume, which made him the Gunnar-mon for the occasion (the back of his top read "Woof-Mon"). The shots aren't ideally lit, and they could be closer, but they offer a good sense of his eager scanning around for trick-or-treaters. Hope you had a good time as well, and that you woke up today to a no additional shaving cream or egg-based decorations.
