Steam Community Group Announcement unveils the official re-release date for
the PC edition of
Batman: Arkham Knight is October 28th, saying this will
be accompanied by a patch for owners of the game to add all the non-exclusive
content already available for the console editions of the action adventure
(thanks
PC Invasion). They don't
actually say so, but presumably this patch will address the multitude of woes
that caused WBIE to pull the game from sale
back in June shortly
after release. Here's word:
At 10 am PDT, Oct. 28th, Batman: Arkham
Knight will be re-released for the PC platform. At the same time we’ll also be
releasing a patch that brings the PC version fully up-to-date with content that
has been released for console (with the exception of console exclusives).
This means that next week, all PC players will have access to Photo Mode, Big
Head Mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum Batman Skin, and character selection in combat
AR challenges. Season Pass holders will have access to all content released
since launch, including:

Spore Service
Announcement has word that
Spore servers are coming back online after
months of downtime (thanks Gav). The evolutionary strategy game does not support
synchronous multiplayer play, but centralized servers allow players to share
their in-game creations. Word is EA Maxis has naturally selected a new
datacenter:
Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding during this
transition to a new datacenter.
I'm happy to say that we will be bringing Spore back online TODAY. We are taking
the final steps which will open the servers to you once again.
When the servers come back online, you may notice the website is a little bare
and needs your new creations and ratings to bring the site back to life. All
your previous creations are still available and came with us to the new
datacenter.
Once you have had a chance to use the site again and the activity re-populates
the site please let us know of any issues you come across.
Please keep an eye on this thread for exact timing of the servers being fully
available and status updates.
Here are last week's bestselling games on
Steam:
- Fallout 4
- Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Rebel Galaxy
- ARK: Survival Evolved
- Tales of Zestiria
- Rocket League
- Tales of Zestiria
- South Park: The Stick of Truth
We had an interesting adventure this morning at the BlueTower as someone managed
to let a little bird in. In spite of not actually being the guilty party, I am
the house animal control officer, which usually just involves bugs, but the bird
was also something I had to deal with. I tried opening a window in the living
room and he flew into the kitchen. As I opened the back door he managed to fall
behind a picture on top of a cabinet, but when I moved the picture, he flew
straight out the door, leaving me basking in the glow of a job well done. This
outcome was much easier than I imagined, and he wasn't in the house for more
than five minutes, but from what I know about bird physiology, this means there
are probably at least three bird poops to track down and clean up.
