Battle.net
post from Blizzard community manager Spyrian confirms that a new round of
bans and suspensions has come down in Heroes of the Storm to discipline
players found cheating and using hacks in the MOBA: Cheating and using
hacks while playing Heroes of the Storm or any Blizzard game will not be
tolerated. These actions undermine the spirit of fair competition that’s
essential to play on Battle.net, and can lead to stability and performance
issues with the service. In Heroes of the Storm, cheaters ruin the competitive
atmosphere not only for their opponents, but for their allies as well.
We recently suspended several accounts and issued permanent bans to Heroes of
the Storm players who were found to be in violation of the Battle.net Terms of
Use for cheating and/or using hack programs.
As always, maintaining a stable, safe, and secure online gaming experience is a
top priority for us. We'll continue to keep a close eye on cheating in Heroes of
the Storm and stamp out offending accounts to uphold the integrity of the
game.
Developer System Era announces Astroneer, a voxel-powered game of
interplanetary exploration coming to Windows PCs, though they are not yet
committed to a release date. This
reveal trailer offers
a look, and you can keep up with the project on the
official website and
this blog. Here's word: Astroneer,
an upcoming PC game from developer System Era Softworks, places players in a
25th century gold rush where they explore the frontiers of outer space, risking
their lives and resources in harsh environments for the chance of striking it
rich. On this adventure, a player’s most useful tool is their ability to shape
their world, altering the terrain and extracting valuable resources from
planets, asteroids, and moons. Resources can be traded on the open market or
crafted into new tools, vehicles, and modules to create everything from massive
industrial bases to pop-up tents for overnight expeditions.
Environments are procedurally generated in a uniquely rendered voxel engine,
featuring a textureless aesthetic that allows players to deform and shape the
terrain as though it were made of Play-Doh. The expansive galaxy allows the
player to explore a virtually infinite number of planets that are each unique,
malleable, and traversable from pole to pole.
Astroneer is being assembled as a labor of love by a small team of veteran
developers who have garnered experience at the likes of 343 Industries, Disney,
Valve, and Ubisoft. For us, this game is a culmination of our deep passion and
affection for the beauty of our universe. While we dream of space travel and
colonization, it will be future generations who will finally realize that
desire. We are creating Astroneer as a means to experience a piece of that
journey ourselves and to inspire in others the wonderment of voyaging to the
stars. Continue here to read the full story.
This trailer offers
a look at gameplay from Umbrella Corps, as two squads from developer Capcom take
each other on in a three-on-three team battle in the upcoming third-person
shooter. Here are the details from
Capcom Unity: Curious to see how a typical match of Umbrella Corps plays out? Today we have
a video straight from the team in Japan that walks you through not just a few
rounds, but also takes some time to show off the game's unique weapons and
tactics. The chargeable brainer axe, zombie jammer and the zombies themselves
all factor into the game's fast-paced matches, resulting in battles that can
quickly go south if you're not on your toes.
Like we said back in September, the match type is "One Life," so when you're
down, you're down until the next round. Watch your head, your zombie jammer and
your back! Take it away, Matt & Mike...
There's a fair amount to digest there, from the shield (that protects against
headshots when you switch to your pistol) to the crisscrossing, compacted level
design that keeps the players in each others' faces.
We also have a fancy live-action trailer that helped kick off the game's
presentation at the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year. It was shot on location
at Universal Studios Japan and features a number of Umbrella toughs skulking
around a facility.
If you're heading out to New York Comic-Con this weekend, you can actually
play Umbrella Corps months before it releases! Come by Booth 1420 for it, SFV,
RE0 and MMLC!

This trailer from
Zombasite offers the first look at this action/RPG in the works at Soldak
Entertainment. The two-plus minute clip shows off monsters, combats, raiding,
skill trees, dungeons, and more. Zombasite was announced with a "when it's done"
release date, but they originally projected it would be out by Q2 of this year,
which it has obviously missed. We inquired about this, and while they are not
committing to a new release window, they say they expect to enter some sort of
early access/beta program "in the next couple of weeks." Continue here to read the full story.

pirates and completing missions, and now it is your turn! Skál!” Continue here to read the full story.

Recon, Halo, Killzone, and SOCOM series.

this game "is owned by a publisher who is no longer financially supporting the
title." As for the game, word is it "emphasizes both team and tactics, utilizing

I'm working on keeping on schedule as we get less daylight every day, as this
always seems to have a significant impact on my internal clock. I don't know
what the exact ratio of science to hooey is in all the talk about seasonal
affective disorder, but it does seem possible some aspect of that is a factor
here. I've had a couple of lamps in the past that cast the kind of light
spectrum they say can help with this, but they've both croaked somewhere along
the way. I can't really say to what extent they actually helped, but like
chicken soup, they didn't hurt, and a lamp has normal practical uses too, so I
think I will pick another one up and see if it helps.
