Vince
Zampella tweets that
Titanfall has passed a new milestone
(thanks
GameSpot). We originally assumed this was a sales figure, but some point out it could be users. Here's word from the Respawn boss on the success of their Windows
and Xbox One multiplayer shooter: "Celebrating 10 million! Thanks to everyone,
we love you all! "
Valve
announces details about their
Fall Season 2015 Compendium, the latest way to participate in their upcoming
Dota 2 competitions. Here's word on how they will include wagering this
time around:
Today we are introducing The Fall Season 2015 Compendium. In
addition to Challenges and Level Rewards, we have introduced a new Coin Wagering
system. Players can wager their coins on the outcome of their match. Wagering
members of the victorious team will each win a percentage of the Coin Pool based
on the amount of their maximum wager compared to the rest of their team.
Compendium Coins can be earned by completing challenges, achievements, random
drops, leveling up your Compendium, using Coin Boosters and recycling. You can
redeem coins inside the Compendium for items, sets, or a treasure. The treasure
contains exclusive new items that are divided into three tiers of rarity. In the
Armory, you can use lower tier items to craft a higher tier reward.
Increase your Compendium Level to earn new couriers, treasures containing sets
with unlockable ambient effects, an Artifact item for Tusk, new Cache treasures,
and more. Check out the Fall
Season Compendium website to learn more.
This all leads up to The Frankfurt Major, where sixteen teams will battle for a
fixed $3,000,000 prize pool from November 16 through the 21st. Tickets to The
Frankfurt Major Finals can be purchased

This update also contains various other fixes,

Well the annual "cold war" ended pretty quickly at the BlueTower, as MrsBlue's
and my traditional standoff over who will turn on the heat first ended in a tie,
as we both agreed the time was right last night. The weird thing is the furnace
never shut itself off overnight, so in the morning it was 85ºF even though the
thermostat was set to shut it off at 68ºF and then 60ºF overnight. The
thermostat in my office has been working properly (the cold war does not apply
up here), so it's probably the downstairs thermostat that is the culprit, so I'm
considering replacing it as a first step, as that would be cheaper than having
the heating guy make a house-call. I guess this is an invitation to try one of
those newfangled Nest dealies, but I am hesitant considering what seems to be
the horrible state of security for the IoT. Decisions, decisions.
