Life is Strange Episode 5 Next Month

The Life Is Strange on Twitter feed has word to expect episode 5 of Life is Strange almost exactly a month from today (thanks Kxmode). They point to this update, from Luc of Dontnod Entertainment, where word is:

We’ve seen that a lot of you can’t wait to play the Life is Strange finale and are eagerly awaiting a release date. The episode is getting closer to submission and we have almost completed development.

We don’t normally announce a date until we know the game is 100% ready but in the spirit of Max’s birthday (today) we wanted to let you know early that we are aiming to release Episode 5 ‘Polarized’ October 20.

Many things can change in the lead up to release but the team are working really hard to try and hit this date. We know the wait may be a bit longer than some of you were hoping for but we want to ensure Episode 5 is the best it can be.

Your tweets, comments and messages have kept us going through this busy stage of development and we can’t thank you enough for your continued support.

We are super excited for you to play the finale and we hope you enjoy the ride! We couldn’t have foreseen the great reaction Life is Strange has had so far, the community is fantastic and we love seeing/reading your reactions to each episode.

No Team Fortress 2 Halloween Map

The Team Fortress 2 website updates us on Valve's plans for their teamplay first-person shooter. Word is: "Speaking of getting to work, the TF2 team is busy putting together the next major update, which should be out by the end of the year. It'll feature new maps, cosmetics, and a new campaign with contracts and weapon collections. We’re also working on things like competitive matchmaking, perf, balance improvements and moving Mannpower Mode out of beta with a new map." They also explain that all that effort is going to prevent them from creating a custom map to celebrate Halloween, but are going to rely on the creativity of the community to commemorate the occasion. They say:

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed that there’s something missing from that list: Halloween. The reality is, if we produce a holiday-specific event map this year, it means we'll have to stop working on everything else. So: We’ve decided to turn Halloween mostly over to you. This year’s Halloween Update will be a showcase of all the best Halloween-themed community content (items, maps, taunts and unusuals) you guys can come up with. We’ll also be activating every one of our past six Halloween Updates, so there'll still be plenty of spooky holiday-themed game modes to play.

Over the next month we’ll be looking through the Workshop for anything tagged “Halloween”, so if you’ve been working on an item you think would be perfect, make sure you get it submitted and tagged before October 18th, 2015.

Which is great news for all those players who would reload a previous save anytime their cherished canine met an untimely demise in Fallout 3. Dogmeat is just one of around a dozen companions in Fallout 4, including Mister Handy, Piper and Preston Garvey. (And for those in the mood for love, you can romance any human companion – regardless of gender.) Get a quick look at Dogmeat in action in our video interview with Game Director Todd Howard.

Out of the Blue

Watching traditional sports yesterday was rough. My g-men squandered another game, my picks did horribly, and the Mets got crushed (by the Yankees no less). On the other hand, e-sports was pretty happening, as the Heroes of the Storm Americas tourney was fun to watch, with a lot of unexpected outcomes, and some surprise heroes getting some play time. I passed on the Emmys however... I can only take so much ruthless competition in one day.
