A
tweet from
the Battlefield has first release details for the
Robbery DLC for
Battlefield Hardline, saying this will steal out to Premium subscribers on
September 16th (thanks
GameSpot). There's no word on when this will be released for the unwashed
masses, but it should follow reasonably shortly thereafter. They point the way
to
this post which provides this overview:
The top gangs are drawing up plans, stockpiling gear, and risking it all
to pull off the boldest, craziest heists ever in Battlefield Hardline: Robbery,
the second expansion pack for Battlefield Hardline.
The theme of this pack is the Big Score: how to steal it, or how to stop it. The
new maps and game mode in Battlefield Hardline: Robbery are designed to let
criminal teams plan and execute the perfect heist; or, for law enforcement, to
get the crooks in cuffs before they can pull it off.
CapCom Unity introduces Rashid, the second all-new Street Fighter character
coming to the roster of
Street Fighter V. They offer a
Rashid reveal trailer
with a look, and the following write-up on his background:
Hey everyone,
I’d like to introduce the second all-new character to Street Fighter V: Rashid!
This character was announced by Ono-san at the Games 15 event in Dubai, and we
have all of the details to share with you now.
Hailing from the Middle East, Rashid is a fun, easy going individual who has an
affinity for technology. Although his fighting style is casual, it’s anything
but laid back! Using the power of wind, Rashid is definitely one of the more
difficult characters to catch.
Players can look forward to parkour inspired, fast-paced attacks, which will
leave opponents scratching their heads and wondering what’s coming next!
Rashid performs a high flying flip over the opponent. Pressing kick during the
Front Flip results in Rashid performing a divekick.
Rashid closes the gap between himself and the opponent with a quick front roll.
Pressing kick during Rolling Assault results in Rashid kicking upward at the
opponent.
Rashid throws out a slow moving whirlwind that closes in on the opponent and
causes damage to them if they touch it. While the whirlwind is out, Rashid can
use it to increase his movement on any attack that propels him forward.
Get ready to soar to new heights with Rashid and leave the competition in the
dust! We still have many more characters left to reveal, so stay tuned for more
information in the near future. Until next time!

GOG.com announces
they are now offering what they call Indie Piñatas, a lottery providing the
chance to get a good value on an indie game since you don't know in advance what
you'll be getting. Here's word on the piñatas, none of which look like
Summer Wheatley, since you're not allowed to have piñatas that look like real
people (but in Mexico, we do it all the time):
Whack your Piñata!
If you're fond of surprises, for $3 (or your local equivalent), you can grab
your own 100% whackable Piñata and find a random indie wonder inside -
handpicked by us and Crunching Koalas. The Piñata can include games anywhere
from $9.99 to $44.99, so there's a deal (and a satisfying POP) behind every
swing - and we’ll be ready to congratulate those of you who show off your
discounted gains on Twitter with the hashtag #IndiePinata!
The Promo and Piñata include a completely separate batch of games, so there's
plenty of variety and surprises - we'll also rotate the Promo and Piñata lineup
after three days, just so that things don't get too stale. The Indie Piñata
promo will last until 9/18/2015, 9:59AM GMT. Just remember - check yourself,
before you whack yourself.
Batter up!
Apparently today is National Video Game Day. This is a stretch, but I think I'll
celebrate by playing video games, and you can feel free to use this excuse on
your family. Yeah holidays!
