Sports Interactive announces
Football Manager 2016, the next installment
in their association football/soccer series. The
Football Manager Facebook
Page and
Twitter stream have links to images and other preview materials.
Pre-purchases are already underway
on Steam as the game is
due on November 13th for Windows and OS X. This offer includes a pre-purchase
beta and a documentary, and there are details on
Steam News as well as
this announcement:
SEGA® Europe Ltd. and Sports Interactive are proud to
present football fans across the world with an opportunity to lead their
favourite team to glory with the latest release in the multi-million selling,
international smash hit Football Manager™ series. Due for release from
mid-November, Football Manager 2016 will comprise a suite of simulations,
designed to provide the perfect football management experience for the widest
possible audience.
In addition to Football Manager 2016 on PC and Macintosh, the newly-assembled
squad also includes Football Manager Touch (for both computer and high-end
tablets) and Football Manager Mobile (for all iOS and Android devices).
Previously known as Football Manager Classic, Football Manager Touch has, until
now, been available as a 'quick play' mode within the full simulation (and for
high-end tablets since March). Now, for the first time, it will be available
separately through Steam (for PC and Macintosh), as well as for high-end
tablets. Football Manager Mobile was formerly known as Football Manager
Handheld.
“For some time now it’s been clear to us that there is no ‘one size fits all’
football management experience,” says Sports Interactive gaffer Miles Jacobson.
“While a huge number of our fans have the time and dedication required to devote
themselves to the ‘full’ simulation, there’s an equally-large number who prefer
a more streamlined option. Not only that, but the widespread availability of
mobile devices means that people are playing in different ways. The introduction
of Football Manager Touch as a standalone offering – playable across computer
and tablet – means that we now offer something for everyone.”
Fans who pre-purchase Football Manager 2016 (PC and Macintosh) from a
participating digital retailer will be rewarded with a download key for ‘An
Alternative Reality: the Football Manager Documentary’. In addition, they will
also enjoy access to a fully-playable Beta version of the game, which will be
available roughly two weeks prior to the official release date. Careers started
in this Beta version will continue in the full game.
Fans who pre-order a boxed copy from a participating retailer (high street or
online) will be rewarded with a limited edition version of Football Manager 2016
which will include ‘An Alternative Reality: the Football Manager
Documentary’.
The holiday in the U.S. is not interfering with GfK Chart-Track's accounting of
the bestselling games in the U.K. for last week.
The Sims 4 is still
number one on their PC top 30, while
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
sneaks in at number five, but for some reason Avalanche's new
Mad Max
game does not appear on this list at all. The new MGS is number one on the
all platforms chart, where Mad Max debuts at number two. Here's
their write-up:
‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’ lands Konami their first No1 of
the year.
It also marks the series’ return to the top of the All Formats chart for the
first time since 2008. It’s a new week 1 high for the series beating the opening
week sales of ‘Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty’ by just under 37%. It’s
enough to put it at 3rd place in terms of first week sales in 2015 (behind
Batman: Arkham Knight & The Witcher III: Wild Hunt). PS4 takes a commanding 72%
share over Xbox One which has 22%, while PS3 edges to a 3% share over Xbox 360
with just 2%. Unable to threaten the No1 spot ahead of Metal Gear, Warner Bros’
post-apocalyptic open world ‘Mad Max’ still makes a solid start driving in at
No2 in its debut week. After winning the battle of the format exclusives and
claiming No1 last week ‘Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’ (-64%) makes way for the
new guys dropping to No3. It remains ahead of Sony title ‘Until Dawn’ (-52%)
down two places to No4, while ‘Disney Infinity 3.0’ (-35%) also slides two spots
to No5.
While the rest of the Top 10 has a somewhat familiar look the Top 40 welcomes
another pair of debutants this week. Koch Media bring ‘Broken Sword 5: The
Serpent’s Curse’ to Xbox One and PS4 (The PC version was released in 2014) and
the title makes it to No35 in its opening week. With the tournament proper on
the horizon Big Ben Interactive and Ubisoft bring ‘Rugby World Cup 2015’ to a
host of formats (Xbox One, 360, PS4, PS3, Vita and PC) landing at No39.
As I noted already, today is Labor Day here in the U.S. This involves avoiding
labor, so we're taking it easy around here today. MrsBlue's sister will to drop
by later for a burger, and other than that, we're just taking it as it comes.
Hope things are as wonderfully chill where you are.
