Star Citizen August Update; Audio Video

There's a Monthly Studio Report on the Roberts Space Industries website with an update from the various studios around the world working on Star Citizen, Cloud Imperium's upcoming space game. If a picture paints a thousand words, then this 14,000 word essay paints 14 pictures, so you should clear a chunk of your schedule to digest this. There's also a Star Marine Status Update which includes a video on audio, covering the sounds in the game, even though in space no one can hear you scream, and while this concentrates on their sound video, it also shows off more of the game's FPS module. Here's the intro to the August update:

What a month! It’s hard to believe that August saw both our live Gamescom multicrew demo AND the release of the social module… and a heck of a lot of work in-between! From building new starships to designing new landing zones to teaching the Vanduul to fly, we’ve been doing a little bit of everything, and it’s finally adding up to things you can see live! You can read on to find out what our teams around the world worked on in August below.

Out of the Blue

What It Looks Like To Leave Our Solar System At The Speed Of Light (thanks Derek) I love stuff like this so much I can watch without skipping ahead too much. It's so cool being able to visualize the unimaginable, though the title is deceptive (it actually ends a little past Jupiter). Anyway, pretty enlightening right off the bat, as I certainly never pictured Mercury being as far from the Sun as it actually is, as the vastness of space is even vaster than I'd pictured.
