BioWare posted patch notes for a Patch 10 for Dragon Age: Inquisition,
but they
deleted them for some reason. Of course rust never sleeps, and the Internet
never forgets, so there's a
copy of the page in Google's cache in case you are curious about upcoming
plans for the RPG sequel. Subject to change (they've been yoinked offline, after
all), here are the notes: In Patch 10 for Dragon Age: Inquisition, our
focus is on introducing fan-requested features, some base ability changes, and a
number of bug fixes.
We’re happy to introduce the player wardrobe. You can now choose from a range of
different outfits for your Inquisitor thanks to a wardrobe in Haven or Skyhold.
The winners of the Untold Relics of Thedas contest have been selected, and their
creations placed in the game. The relics’ locations are a mystery for your
Inquisitior to uncover.
Thanks to prominent Thedosian scholars and Shapers, we’ve implemented a series
of gameplay adjustments, designed to improve and balance the player experience.
We’ve also added the ability for players to consolidate account bound
collectibles across games with a newly added Golden Nug statue located in
Skyhold and Haven. With it, you can access your codex entries, crafting
schematics, mounts, Skyhold decorations, and potion recipes across your online
saves of the same platform. Just touch the statue with your post-game character
to get access to this feature. Continue here to read the full story.

Today is the actual day of reckoning for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,
as Activision now offers the Reckoning expansion for the futuristic
military shooter, forcing us to retire that obvious joke after just three
repetitions. Here's word on the contents of the pack, which is also available
today for PlayStation 4: Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare Reckoning, the fourth and final DLC pack for
Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3
and PC. Reckoning features four new multiplayer maps, the return of the Exo
Grapple playlist and the epic conclusion to Exo Zombies, as players engage
across four unique locations from a freezing ice shelf in the Arctic to Liberty
Island in New York.
- Overload: With a grand view of
downtown New Baghdad, the map's multiple levels and long perimeter
site-lines highlight medium to long-range combat.
- Quarantine: The speed picks up in
this medium sized map with its tight corners and open areas. The combination
allows for any style of gameplay.
- Fracture: Search this map's large
combat areas, cradled on the shelf of a glacier, to take refuge behind wind
turbines and heavy equipment.
- Swarm: In this small to medium sized
map, take position in war-scarred storefronts that provide plenty of cover
over the streets of Seoul, South Korea, or flank the enemy through close
quarter interiors in the center of the map.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Reckoning also brings fans Descent, the
dramatic conclusion of the Exo Zombies saga. Descent takes players to a remote
ocean Atlas survival facility as they encounter new "fused" Exo Zombie enemies,
and have at their disposal the Trident Reflected Energy Weapon. The final
episode also unveils the fate of our protagonists - John Malkovich (In the Line
of Fire, RED, Burn After Reading), Bill Paxton (Aliens, Titanic, Edge of
Tomorrow), Rose McGowan (Planet Terror, Scream), Jon Bernthal (Fury, The Wolf of
Wall Street) and Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice, Bubba Ho-Tep), who have found
themselves in a harrowing situation as they attempt to discover the true cause
of the global pandemic and the terrible secret that Atlas has been
hiding.
Slitherine now offers 30 Years' War, a new turn-based strategy game based on the
massive 17th century conflict. You can find more on the game, including how to
purchase it, on
this page,
and they offer a let's play video
showing things off. Here's the announcement: 1618 – Tensions within the Holy Roman Empire have reached a climax. Ferdinand
II, King of Bohemia and a zealous Catholic, is unpopular among his Protestant
subjects. The revolt is brewing. Powerful European Protestant leaders are
following the evolution of the situation at the frontiers of the Empire. Foreign
interventions seem inevitable: Europe is on the brink of a long religious war!
Thirty Years’ War, the new wargame from Ageod, covers this decisive period of
the modern European history. As the head of the Catholics or Protestants, the
players have a considerable freedom of military and political actions.
Recruiting new units, reinforcing the casualties with mercenaries, manoeuvring
armies of thousands of men and planning yearly campaigns, will soon become their
everyday life!
Powered by the famous AGE engine that proved to accurately simulate local
conflicts and major wars alike, Thirty Years’ War is a wargame like no other,
thanks to its deep and rarely covered historical context. Continue here to read the full story.

Bethesda.net announces the 21st annual QuakeCon will take place from August
4 through August 7 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. They outline some of
the activities and perks, including the possibility of shirts invoking
a separated at birth
we first noted in 1998.
Here's the plan: Get Ready for QuakeCon 2016!
For many, QuakeCon is an annual tradition. For others, QuakeCon 2015 was their
first time attending this fan-favorite convention. Whether you’re a long-time
attendee or new to the QuakeCon experience, the four-day video game festival
will be back in 2016 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, on August 4 through
August 7 – so start making your plans!
Whether you come for the BYOC, tournaments, exclusive panels, or to play the
latest games from Bethesda – or all the above – QuakeCon is packed with awesome
activities for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
And it only gets better every year. QuakeCon 2015 was our biggest show yet! In
an attendee exclusive, behind-closed-doors presentation, Todd Howard revealed a
host of new details on Fallout 4. And many of the attendees were the first to
play DOOM Multiplayer anywhere in the world outside of id Software!
Attendees also get to rub elbows with a number of our developers throughout the
show. id Software’s studio director, Tim Willits, kicks off the show every year
with the annual QuakeCon Welcome presentation, and stays all the way through the
Saturday night finals party. He likes to be one of the first to set up his
gaming rig in QuakeCon’s legendary BYOC – and he’s one of the last to leave.
“The event is a true “grassroots” organization; founded by only a group of fans
and volunteers 20 years ago,” Willits reminisces. “The event is still supported
by fans of id Software/Bethesda and largely staffed by volunteers today. The
event has grown and matured over the last 20 years but what has always remained
the same is the spirit of community gaming; people coming together to play their
favorite games with friends and family. I have had the privilege of attending
every QuakeCon, and what I enjoy the most is seeing all the great people that
make this such a wonderful event year after year.”
Note: Even with a clean shave, you’ll still see Tim’s
1990s-George-Costanza-with-a-moustache mug on shirts and more. Sorry Tim, we
couldn’t resist

NCSOFT announces an official launch date for the free-to-play version of
WildStar, saying Carbine's
sci-fi MMORPG will relaunch without subscription fees on September 29th. Here's
word on the launch, and how to try to get into beta testing in the meantime:
NCSOFT® and Carbine Studios™ announced today that sci-fi MMO WildStar’s
free-to-play update will launch 29th September, 2015. Additionally, the second
phase of the closed beta test started this week, focusing on fine-tuning the
update’s changes prior to release.
More than just a business model conversion, the free-to-play launch will be the
title’s biggest game update yet thanks to new content, enhanced game systems,
and countless quality of life improvements. Titled WildStar Reloaded, the
upcoming content update is the culmination of months of improvements and tweaks
that make the game bigger and better than ever. New players will enjoy a greatly
streamlined starting experience, while veteran players will be handsomely
rewarded for their loyalty. As an added perk, all players with active
subscriptions at the time of the free-to-play transition will also receive
exclusive items as a bonus.
While the first phase of the closed beta has been focused on testing the

ensure that the economic aspects of the free-to-play transition are
launch-ready. The second phase also offer invited players a risk-free
opportunity to test the new in-game store by buying NCoin—a real money currency
that is all new to WildStar. All NCoin purchased during the second phase will be
copied to players’ beta characters, allowing them to test the entire purchase
process and the purchased NCoin will then be transferred in full to their live
characters once the transition officially happens.
The free-to-play closed beta is accessible to all current subscribers, as well
as non-subscribers who have been invited and redeemed a closed beta key. Anyone
can sign up for a closed beta key by visiting the official
WildStar site and
clicking the “Sign Up For Beta” button.

Publisher Ripstone and indie developer Golden Ruby Games and announce Extreme
Exorcism, a Linda Blair-free action party game based on the party-friendly
theme of demonic possession. This is coming to Windows, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and
WiiU on September 23rd. There are more details on the
Golden Ruby website
and a teaser trailer
offers a look. Here's word: In Extreme Exorcism, players take on the role
of Extreme Exorcist Mae Barrons – whose unconventional supernatural skills are
called upon when everything and everyone else has failed to rid a haunted house
of its ghostly presence. However, these aren’t your average poltergeists, as
each time a spirit is eliminated, another will mimic Mae’s prior movements,
weapon fires and dodges. With Extreme Exorcism, players are their own worst
enemy and the longer they survive, the more chaotic the game becomes.
To aid in her efforts, Mae’s equipped with a lethal arsenal of more than 20
ghost-busting weapons, including swords, guns, grenades, mines, rocket
launchers, razor-sharp boomerangs, lightning spells and Kung-Fu moves. She’ll
need all the firepower she can obtain, as she’ll face 50 challenges, a single
player story mode and local multiplayer with up-to four players, including both
Co-op and Deathmatch modes. Continue here to read the full story.

I'm experiencing a little soreness in the middle knuckle on my right index
finger. I'm not sure, but I think this could actually be from mouse clicking,
which would obviously be primarily from gaming. It hasn't been bothering me for
long, but it's something I want to stay conscious of, as I certainly don't need
to court an RSI or anything. The sore finger actually makes sense based on
my habits, the weirder thing is something I noticed some time ago, which is a
callus at the base of the same finger, which I also assume is from mousing, even
though contact with the mouse at that point is relatively mild. I just don't
have any other activities that could adequately explain it being in that spot.
The hazards of gaming.
