Paradox Interactive announces After Dark, the first expansion for
Cities: Skylines, saying this is coming one month from now on September
24th. They offer
this developer diary to introduce the pack with a bunch of images to show
off the new day/night cycle the add-on will bring. Here's the announcement:
STOCKHOLM – Aug. 20, 2015 — Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games and
a civic-minded somnambulist, today announced that “After Dark,” the first
expansion for the hit city-building game Cities: Skylines, will release
worldwide on September 24, 2015.
The expansion, which will include a broad variety of features, such as a
day-and-night cycle, new nighttime city services and options, and much more,
will be available to players of Cities: Skylines on PC, Mac, and Linux for
$14.99 via digital distributors everywhere.
To give curious city constructors a glimpse of what awaits them in After Dark,
Paradox has released the first weekly design diary from Cities: Skylines
developer Colossal Order, along with a new batch of in-game screenshots showing
several of the substantial sundown surprises that await players.
In After Dark, the sun will set on mayor-players’ in-game cities – but it will
rise once nighttime is over, so nobody needs to worry. Towns will look – and
behave – differently at night, with new leisure-focused nightspots, popular
beachfront properties that thrive during the daytime and new systems such as
taxicabs, prisons, bike lanes and much more.
GuildWars2.com introduces the berserker elite specialization for the warrior
profession in the upcoming Heart of Thorns expansion for Guild Wars 2,
ArenaNet's MMORPG sequel. There are lots of details, but they will also be
following this with a livestream on
Twitch tomorrow at 3:00 pm EDT. Here's a bit: One of the berserker’s
skills is ‘Flames of War’, which allows warriors to set themselves ablaze,
remove conditions and create a fire field that burns enemies before it explodes
in a flurry of flame. The ‘Blaze Breaker’ skill allows berserkers to slam their
torch into the ground, creating a cascade of rock and flame that barrels forward
towards a target, crippling and burning any foes unfortunate enough to be in its
path. The berserker elite specialization also has new set of utility skills
called rage skills. These are much like the warrior’s physical skills but have
the added effect of granting bonus adrenaline when they’re used in
combat.

forgotten grails of gaming history is within your grasp, should you travel to a
magical, DRM-free realm known as GOG.com
Eye of the Beholder, Pool of Radiance, Menzoberranzan - the list of

NVIDIA announces details on how an update coming next month to their
GeForce Experience
software adding new sharing features as well as the ability to play co-op games
over the internet with only a local copy on one machine. Here's word on how this
works: Last but not least is GameStream Co-op. As a kid you’d invite your
friends around to see a new game, to help you beat a particularly tricky level,
to play Chaos Engine co-op, or to challenge you in Doom II. As an adult, your
childhood friends and new Internet friends are spread far and wide. GameStream
Co-Op uses the Internet, the performance of GeForce GTX PCs, and the
low-latency, low-overhead streaming components of GeForce GTX Kepler and Maxwell
GPUs to solve the problem, enabling you to invite friends into your game over
the Internet.
GameStream Co-op supports DirectX 9 games and up than run in fullscreen
exclusive mode.
With GameStream Co-Op, your friends can simply watch you play in a low latency
1:1 stream, take control of your game with mirrored controls and help you with a
tough boss fight in The Witcher 3, or play along-side you in supported
multi-controller games like Trine 3, Gauntlet, FIFA 15, NBA 2K15, Mortal Kombat
Komplete, and more.
However you use GameStream Co-Op, you’ll be able to hear your friend with
built-in voice chat support, which can be activated and toggled in real-time
using the new Share overlay.
To get your hands on all this goodness
stay tuned to the
GeForce Experience early access beta page, which will be updated with the
download link in September. Further information regarding system requirements is
already available, so you can see whether your system is ready for Share.

Shadowrun cRPG series, a mashup of fantasy and cyberpunk. The most impressive
Shadowrun cRPG yet, Shadowun: Hong Kong features an all new crew, expanded magic

Kong PDF book, is available for $29.99.
The game is set in the magically awakened Hong Kong of 2056, a stable and
prosperous port of call in a sea of chaos, warfare, and political turmoil. Hong
Kong in Shadowrun is a land of bright lights, gleaming towers, and restless
spirits where life is cheap and everything is for sale.
“The team went all-out on Shadowrun: Hong Kong,” said Jordan Weisman, CEO of
Harebrained Schemes and creator of the Shadowrun franchise. “This is by far the
best-looking Shadowrun game Harebrained Schemes has ever made.” Continue here to read the full story.
The
Telltale Community blog announces the release of Escape Plan Bravo,

The XCOM
website offers a new
"Welcome to the Avenger" gameplay trailer from XCOM 2 showing off the strategy layer in
the upcoming XCOM sequel. Here's the explanation of what they are showing us:
Up until now, all you’ve seen on XCOM 2 is the tactical gameplay.
Deploying troops in the field, maneuvering around undetected and setting up the
perfect ambush were all highlights of our E3 gameplay demonstration. If you
haven’t watched our demo yet, we encourage you to do so now in the video below.
At Gamescom earlier this month, the folks at Firaxis pulled back the curtain on
XCOM 2’s mobile base and headquarters, the Avenger, and now you can be one of
the first people outside the show to see the full gameplay demo. Simply hit the
play button on the video below!
The XCOM 2 strategy layer, which takes place within XCOM’s mobile base, the
Avenger, allows players to own guerrilla operations from a higher level. Within
the Avenger, you’ll allocate personnel to certain departments, recruit new
soldiers and facilitate their development within an on-board training school,
and manage XCOM’s funds and resources. You can even customize the look of your
soldiers and their weapons from here. You are in full control.
When only viewing the Gamescom footage above, it’s easy to see how XCOM 2 could
be a base-building game on its own, but there are two sides to the XCOM 2
experience: fighting against aliens with XCOM soldiers on the ground and
building a resistance network around the globe as you try to reclaim the earth.
We wish you luck with both when XCOM 2 launches this November.

CapCom Unity has news that Street Fighter V will undergo beta testing
this weekend to vet the fighting game sequel for its upcoming release. As far as
we know, this is for the PlayStation 4 only. Here's the plan: We are happy
to announce that this week we will be running the first of a series of region
specific stress tests for Street Fighter V, which aim to gather information from
those areas.
The first regional test will be begin in Europe on Thursday August 20th from
16:00-00:00 BST, and continue on Friday August 21st from 16:00-00:00 BST. When
we are confident with the results from this test, we will share the dates and
times for North America and Asia’s region specific tests, and once we have
successfully completed each regional stress test, we will announce the dates and
times of the official global beta test. The global beta test will still take
place for the previously promised 5 days of time, so the regional stress tests
are just an added bonus.
Please note that, although this time we anticipate these tests being a smoother
experience, there may still be issues experienced by some users which could
hinder their experience. We would like to reiterate that all data received
during each regional stress test will help us ensure that the game performs at
an optimal level.
It should be noted that your Street Fighter V beta will still work, and you
should not require another code, however please ensure you have installed the
latest patch, if your beta has not automatically updated.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Battle.net announces a new patch will launch for World of Warcraft on
September 1st, updating the MMORPG to version 6.2.2. This is currently up on the
Public Test Realm, and they offer updated notes on all the changes as well as
instructions on how to access the PTR to check it out. The highlight of the new
version is the addition of flight to Draenor, and here's more on that: "Patch
6.2.2 arrives Tuesday, September 1. Once live, players with the Draenor
Pathfinder achievement will be able to take to the skies of Draenor. Learn more
about earning this achievement in our blog post –
Draenor Pathfinder: Prepare for Flying."
The
League of Legends website offers notes for an upcoming patch that
will update Riot's MOBA to version 5.16 (thanks
VG247). Here's a bit: Welcome to patch 5.16, the one where
juggernauts exist, defensive items get a pass and Zed actually gets buffed.
Before we dive in, let’s clear some things up for all the esports fans out there
- 5.14 (the one with crazy Elise, #bigsorry) will be the one that the rest of
playoffs including the gauntlet will be played on. Worlds will be played on
5.18, which means while we totally hear you about these changes being pretty
huge before worlds, we’ve set aside the next two to react and tune as necessary
(read: lighter touches) before these changes hit the big stage.

The Escapist - Why People Will Leave PC Gaming.
"Things are pretty bad. The poster child for this right now might be Zoe
Quinn, who at the time of writing has yet to be able to return to her home
due to the recent unpleasantness (and is drawing closer to becoming the
video game world's fatwa-era Salman Rushdie by the day). But this has been
going on for a while, and the industry has been bleeding talent for years.
For example, Greg Zeschuk admitted to Polygon in 2013 that the departure of
he and fellow Bioware founder Ray Muzyka was at least partly due to
harassment.. More recently, John Smedley stepped down from his position
as CEO of Daybreak Games, after a period of long harassment by Lizard Squad
that saw
his credit rates destroyed, bomb scares, and his home swatted multiple
times."
When I said yesterday I was looking for suggestions for getting rid of my rotten
potato smell I meant I was combing the internet, but I ended up following the
advice of some of the posts you made in reply. Washing the cabinet out with
vinegar seemed like a good starting point, but as the vinegar odor faded, it
became clear the stench was still present. I then escalated to Batman's
suggestion that I bust out the bleach, and I think that's doing the trick. After
sitting overnight it still smells a bit like a swimming pool, but not one that
something died in, so that's considerable progress. It's got a bowl of
baking soda in there right now, and I may give it a follow up bleaching for good measure,
but I think I've turned a corner on the problem. Thanks for the help.
