The UbiBlog
has details on a new feature in Rainbow Six Siege, detailing the Spectator Cam
in the military shooter. They say: "A beta form of Spectator Cam will be
available for LAN and custom online games for Windows PC at launch on October 13
and for Xbox One and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system in early 2016."
They offer a link to a video that they removed for some reason, though
fortunately, they also
posted it here. Here's more on the spectacular spectating the cam will
provide: With Spectator Cam, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege offers the possibility for an
11th player to participate in 5 vs. 5 multiplayer games as an observer and watch
the match in real time. In addition to the traditional first-person view,
Spectator Cam introduces Tactical View, an interactive viewpoint that allows
players to automatically follow individual players over the map and observe all
players, teams and objectives. Spectator Cam will offer players a real-time
overview of team strategies and player tactics that will make watching
multiplayer matches both entertaining and informative. Continue here to read the full story.

September 29th. Here's a new
"tribute" trailer and
here's the plan: Might & Magic Heroes VII will be coming to PC on

battlefield alongside Haven and Academy when the beta begins on August 26.

the vast, complex world of Might & Magic Heroes VII and face off against
legendary creatures in grand, strategic battles. Secure your spot in the closed
beta by pre-ordering the game. You
can still join the Shadow Council and
make your voice heard, plus group up with other members of the community to
discuss your experiences. Continue here to read the full story.
Supernova website heralds The Stormherald, one of the commanders in
Supernova, BANDAI NAMCO's upcoming MOBA. They also announce the beginning of
a weekly rotation of free commanders in the game, which is currently in closed
beta testing. Here's the news: The Stormherald makes a strong support
commander and a valuable ally to have on the battlefield. After calling in a
combat spacecraft, The Stormherald can utilize a Grapple hook to immobilize
opponents and retract them back into the torrent of firepower. This mech has
surprising mobility and recon superiority with the use of his Spearhead clamp.
If The Stormherald is unable to escape enemy pursuers, he can activate a Force
Field to reduce incoming ranged attack damage and push back nearby enemies.
Also starting today, commanders will be rotated out with nine commanders each
being unlocked and free to play. Currently Aelius, Bloat, B.R.O., Legatus Karnel,
Mackwell, Maxim, Talo’Thrix, The Stormherald and Velandre are in rotation. The

Humorously saying the D&D RPG needs "more cowbell," developer n-Space announces
a three week delay to Sword Coast Legends, their Dungeons & Dragons
role-playing game. This
previously
carried a September 8th release date, but word is the Windows, OS X, and
Linux editions are now due on September 29th, while the release window for the
console editions remains sometime this year. As a consolation, they announce a
free DLC pack for all who preorder the game: Independent developers,
n-Space and Digital Extremes, announced that their upcoming Sword Coast
Legends™, a party-based RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Forgotten Realms
universe from Wizards of the Coast, will now release on Steam for PC, Mac and
Linux on September 29. The PlayStation®4 and Xbox® One versions of Sword Coast
Legends are still slated to appear in late 2015.
"We're extremely excited to show everyone what we've been up to with Sword Coast
Legends, but it looks like our dungeon bosses need a few more hit points ...
Larethar needs even more of a Scottish accent ... and the game itself could use
a touch 'more cowbell,'" said Dan Tudge, President of n-Space and Director for
Sword Coast Legends. "All kidding aside, our fans deserve nothing less than
whatever it takes on our part to deliver the compelling roleplaying dynamic of
Dungeons & Dragons tabletop to the world of cooperative multiplayer video games.
If that means the game needs a few additional weeks of balancing, tuning and
general polish -- so be it."
"While it's hard to wait a few more weeks for Sword Coast Legends to drop, I'm
happy the n-Space team is dedicated to crafting a quality D&D experience. All
pre-orders getting the Rage of Demons DLC for free is exciting news," said
Nathan Stewart, Brand Director of Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast.
"And for D&D fans, the Rage of Demons DLC gives them another exciting way to
face the demon lords in the Underdark."

Blizzard has announced three new heroes for Heroes of the Storm, as well as a
new battleground for the MOBA team brawler. The new map is a three-lane
Diablo-themed map called Infernal Shrines they show off in
this trailer. The
heroes are Kharazim, the previously revealed Diablo monk support character;
Rexxar a ranged warrior based on Warcraft's legendary beastmaster; and Artanis,
the StarCraft warrior they recently promised. There are details on the
Heroes of the Storm website along with
a Kharazim Trailer a
Monk cinematic. They promise a livestream
on Friday at noon eastern time with more on all the new content, and here's word
for now: KHARAZIM
As the Eternal Conflict rages on, a new defender of Sanctuary prepares to enter
the fray. Kharazim, Monk of Ivgorod, the first support character from the Diablo
universe, will bring inner peace to his allies—and pain to his enemies. He’s a
mobile melee Hero who can specialize in different paths by choosing one of three
traits via his talents. Kharazim can select Iron Fists to gain bonus attack
damage, Transcendence to heal himself through melee combat, or Insight to
restore mana and find a balance between both offensive and defensive roles.
INFERNAL SHRINES
Kharazim won’t be the only new addition coming from Sanctuary. Infernal Shrines
is a three-lane Diablo-themed Battleground featuring three shrines that will
periodically gather power. Teams can unleash this power by activating a shrine,
defeating its guardians, and summoning a devastating Punisher to fight for them.
These powerful bosses will spawn with one of three deadly affixes—Arcane,
Frozen, or Mortar— and will hunt down nearby enemy Heroes as well as pushing the
lane closest to their shrine.
REXXAR
Charging into the brawl from Azeroth is the legendary beastmaster, Rexxar, and
his loyal bear, Misha. He’s a unique ranged warrior, who calls on his ferocious
companion to follow him around the battlefield and attack his foes. Misha is
integral to Rexxar’s gameplay, harassing enemies, absorbing damage, and stunning
enemy characters with a targeted charge ability.
ARTANIS
If you’re the kind of player who prefers warriors that get up close and personal
with their enemies, Artanis may be just the Hero for you. The leader of the
Protoss will soon join the fight as the first StarCraft warrior, and he’ll be
bringing some heavy hitting abilities with him. Continue here to read the full story.
The Star Wars Battlefront
website now offers the
full Fighter Squadron trailer they
recently teased).
The clip shows dogfights with some iconic spacecraft from the series, including
the Millennium Falcon. The
accompanying article has more on what to expect from this mode: Dogfight
In Fighter Squadron you’ll jump into the iconic ships of the Rebel Alliance and
the Galactic Empire. Behind the sticks of X-wings, A-wings, TIE fighters, and
TIE Interceptors you’ll engage in aerial battles with up to 20 players.
AI-controlled ships join the battles, giving players an intense, action-packed
experience.
Your team’s objective is to destroy more fighters than the other team. If your
team reaches the score limit of 200 kills or has the most kills when the time
limit is over, your side wins!
But there’s more than dogfights to worry about. As transport shuttles are being
utilized by both the Rebels and Imperials, your job will be to either attack the
other team’s shuttle or keep yours out of harm’s way. Expect intense fights over
the transport shuttles and earn bonus points if you “take care” of them as your
objective directs.
When you hit the cockpit, you’ll use several offensive and defensive tactics.
Your ship’s laser cannons will rough up enemy targets and missiles will do a
great deal of damage.

In a bit of bad timing, the annual get-together of my old summer camp comrades
is today, coinciding with the kick off of Gamescom. I think I'll just end up
staying in the BlueTower throughout, as it sounds like this will be a smaller
reunion than usual anyway. I'm sure I will be missed desperately, and this will
probably lead to a hero's welcome when I show up next year. Yeah, that's the
ticket!
